Have you notice lots of anime hooks up 16 year old schoolgirls to adult men

I had been watching anime since I was a little kid I just realized in Many anime, They always romantically involve a 16 year old girl Maybe the legal age in Japan is 16 that is why it always exist in many anime but I dont know. Is 16 the legal age in Japan? whats more disturbing is that these plots are more common in animes targeted for girls like the romance animes and the magical girl genre anime.

The common practice in Japan is that when a teen finishes High School he/she either work, go to college or get married. With what we see in the anime, it is just showing to some viewers that it is not bad to dream to be with someone who is older and cooler.. You don't need to compare the real life to the world of anime, because they are different, but it is not bad to dream and believe what you believe.

In western culture though, its pedo-creepy. 
I was able to pass through some creepyness in anime, aside from the pedo and furry stuff, there is the cousin stuff. But oh well its their culture, there are still parts of Japanese culture that doesnt creeps me out, thats why I still watch anime. Its the coolness. so yeah i just try to ignore the creepy stuff, IN english dubs they censor the ages of characters.,

I can't think of an immediate example but I know what you mean. And um... the actual age of marriage and such is 13... eeek. Yeah, it sound pretty bad and thinking on it, is 13 even old enough to make such big decisions? I don't think so based on the kids of that age around here, too spontaneous and emotionally driven, don't think too much on actions and still need guidance. Not marriage age in my books.
This is for both boys and girls, by the way.

so that could be the reason why Japan have those Lolicon anime. I think there are clubs in Japan were businessmen can grope schoolgirls in uniform. We know school uniform is like more sexy for them than an actual bikini.

i think yes.. most countries legal ages is 16, unlike us here in my country which is 18. but i would like us to adapt 16 as the age of majority because, they experience freedom at an earlier age than us.. and having earlier freedom makes you think more maturely ahead of time.. :)
