Give valid reasons why the senate tribunal is currently conducting an impeachment trial versus Chief Justice Renato C. Corona.

,,,simple. The house of representative passed a impeachment complaint. since the judiciary (as Corona is the head and part of it) the only legitimate body to try is the senate. However, in this capacity, Senate is sitting as an impeachment court with the power to impeach the accused of his position, benefits and so on if he was proven guilty.
If there was no complaint, there is no trial and we're not watching coverage of this in every news station every afternoon.

You can read all the articles of impeachment online. Some resource pages will give you the full text while others give a more concise one. Allegations include ill-gotten wealth, siding, ruling and showing favor with with the previous administration and mishandling the money for the judiciary (the one that was loaned from the World Bank). There are eight articles in all in the complaint.
