Friends... What could possibly happen to me if i insist on using my trekking sandals instead of my rubbershoes for jogging? How are they any different? Will i get injured if i use my merell sandals?

Well, supposedly you could get injured. Sandals haven't enough cushion to support your feet and knees from the constant impact when you jog. Sandals are also open and if you accidentally stub your toe when jogging, it definitely would get injured. I had however said 'supposedly' since this is what running experts say. But have you seen people run barefoot. Some even compete barefooted and they don't get injured. But just to be on the safe side, use running shoes instead :)

Running bare foot is not advisable. Further one can run well with rubber shoes and after sufficient practice. practice is more important in such exercises.

Yep, probably almost all would advise you not to run barefoot. But some people do run without them, and they even compete. Besides, how did people run before rubber shoes were invented? :)

I use my trekking shoes (not sandals) for jogging. I'm comfortable with them as I go jogging very slowly. If you're a fast jogger, then you must go for sports shoes. But in my opinion, trekking shoes are OK for jogging also. It depends on whether you are comfortable or not wearing them for jogging.

I think it may be comfortable to do jogging with rubber shoes.Your fear of change is only making you say so. Experience the change and you may like it very much.
