I am so annoyed at my financial planner!

I have applied for a Government Disability Savings Plan back in December 2011. I received a letter day before yesterday saying that I was turned down because the beneficiary name doesn't match the applicant name! I had to call the government offices, confirm my Social Insurance Number information (my American friends that is your Social Security Number). Everything, as expected confirms my identity. So I called my bank, talked to the guy who set up my account and told him what I had learned. He then says so who is so and so? I said I have no idea, you did the paperwork! Then on top if it, because of this error, my application will take another 6 to 8 weeks to process!! Last I heard the guy was going to talk to someone higher up than he, and I gave him the government office number incase he had to call and get things sorted out. I would have figured a simple Addendum or Appendix with the correct name would be sufficient! So consequently, because I internalized the feelings, I gave myself a huge migraine headache! YUCK!

They should be able to just quickly edit their mistake and still let the application go through. Its an error on their part and not yours so why must you suffer the consequences of their mistake? That's how it works though. I hope they can push it through faster since it was an inconvenience to you.

Well I heard back from my FP yesterday. He told me that he would have draft up a change of beneficiary document and I would go in and sign it. He was now leery of making any changes for fear he would get it wrong and then the paper change would be for nothing! I felt like saying "Really? Now your concerned?" So he said he would draft the document up, which is nothing more than printing it off the computer and having me sign it. Have I heard? Nope.... GRRR!
