our 10-year-old dog gave birth today to one puppy but we fear this puppy will die soon. she also gave birth twice last year but after a few days her puppies died. my dad decided to bottle feed the puppy. what is the cause of this? do dogs at this age don't produce milk anymore or is it because of her diet..what she eats? we only let her eat our left-overs and she doesn't eat a lot.

First off mom needs a higher food intake, and not with leftover food! She needs a higher protein dog food, and because she should be nursing and isn't producing milk, you need to get her puppy food ASAP! What is your father feeding the baby pup? If it isn't something other than cow's milk, that can do damage to the baby. They need special nutrients in the very early days of their life. Call a vet and ask to see them ASAP! Otherwise, you will lose the other puppy too. Might I suggest you have her spayed, 10 years of age is very old to be having puppies. That is the equivalent of 70 human years of age!!

my father asked milk from my daughter..a powdered milk for a child 3 years of age..we don't take our dogs to the vet anymore these days because it can be costly..but so far the puppy is doing good, and is still alive as of today..hopefully the puppy can survive until she is old enough to take solid food too..i see, well, our dog is too old to have puppies already so that is why since last year the puppies always die a few days after birth...
