many people made mistake they purchase their Laptop or PC but not made 2 or more partition in their drive and store their important files/documents in same drive those had windows installed. if they had 2 partition then people also put their files in Windows drive. in this case if you made this same mistake and you Laptop or PC come viruses or had crashed then you need to format your Laptop or PC and after format you loss your data. How to Protect files/documents 1.if you buy your Laptop or PC then first create 2 or more their partition. 2.every time your Important files/documents you should store in different drive. Example if your OS installed in C drive then you store you data in D, E, F, etc. drive. 3. install Antivirus and make it should be upto date. also upto date your OS. 4. Scan every Pendrive or any external device which you want to add your Laptop or PC before open. 5. Every time on your firewall, mostly when you use internet. guys if you know more usefull tips then share it here.

Now a days, laptops and pc are in the market where in some of the OS are initially installed but the thing is it's not even updated. So in order to protect your data in your laptop you would need to first make updates in your anti virus, anything that should be updated should be made, second partition, always make a back up of any files in your computer this is the best way to protect your files in case of emergency. And then third was to have an online storeage but this will make you cost a little amount of money, online files are easy to access and also you can make use of external hardrives or USB, diskettes or anything you can store your data. And the thing is, we don't know when or how our system will shut off.

better to use two drives for your important data back up one is master keep in safe place (back up once in week or more) and one for movement and daily back up, there are chances of failure of external hard drive too.

Yes, by keepng those file in drives is good but you should also consider encrypting those drives! I am using a freeware: lockdir What it does: - protect directories where files are or entire drive (by choosing a password) - unprotect same as above (You to remember same password as above) It best use that software on portal drive (usb drives) You can unprotect same usb drive on multiple computers (as long you remember password) without no problem. Give it a try!

Thank you for your useful tips. Also, don't download applications from companies/individuals you don't trust, you never know. The most threatening viruses are "antiviruses" which "scan" your computer and find all your important files and steal them..
