Did you know that the engagement rings are worn at the fourth finger of the left hand. It is because of the ancient Greece maintained that that finger contains the vena amoris meaning the "vein of love" that runs straight tot the heart.
The first recorded wedding ring was in Egypt, with the circle representing eternity, powerful sun and moon deities.
Now I know why do people often mistaken me to be engaged or married.

thank you for the information. i oftentimes wonder about the wedding ring and why the fourth finger. the information is helpful to understand why it is like that. it is very timely. happy valentine's day too.

I have been wearing an engagment ring for the past 6 years and I always wear it on my fourth finger. The only day I had put it on my right hand was on my wedding day then after the wedding ring went on my fourth finger I put my engagement ring back on the left hand.
