The first installment of George Lucas' saga is being released in theaters in the United States tomorrow in 3D. The Phantom Menace was actually the fourth movie released chronologically but the first in the epic saga. Is anyone going to see it on opening weekend?

To me George Lucas is a disappointment. He made the Star Wars movies of which there were supposed to be 9 and what has he done since. He just seems to be reworking the same 6 movies over and over again. Can't he do something new and original like Spielberg?

I think the "nine" films or the trilogy that was supposed to take place post-Return of the Jedi, was really a lot of rumor and hype. I'm disappointed that George Lucas refuses to release the original theatrical version of the older trilogy as those versions are what I grew up on.

The movie is on its second week of showing here in my country and we might watch it this weekend. I'm a Star Wars fan, but I'm not really big on 3D effects. It makes me dizzy for some reason. But my son is excited to see it. It's only his second movie actually since he turned 8 three months ago.

It can definitely be irritating and cause headaches. I actually wonder if it's not detrimental to vision over the long run. I'll go watch it simply because us Star Wars fans rarely get the opportunity to watch the films on the big screen.

i already seen it..in 3D .it opened in my country feb 8th.. the 3d suck.almost non available.. only 1 really nice 3D scene ..just a brief milisecond..during the pod racing sequence when Anakin trying to use a long pole kinda lookin thing to adjust his jet engine in place. the rest...it a waste of ur money.. unless u havent seen star wars..itll b a good movie experience.. its not only star wars having this kinda problem..All the old movies redone in 3D ..like The lIOnKIng..Beauty and the bitcch..all horribly re-release in 3D..almost no 3D in sight.. i watched Starwars Episode1..hoping that Lucas got some Know how" to make this a worthwhile 3d movie.better than Disney;s.but no..he failed too. i just gonna go for 1 more last try for this sort of old movie turned to 3D for TITANIC..i hope James Cameron really good..in remaking a 3D able Titanic.. Iceberg! rite ahead.

Excellent point about older movies being transferred to 3D technology not paying off. Older films weren't made with 3D technology in mind so camera shots and angles that really look enhanced in 3D are probably few and far between.
