Hello crippledsoul, There are lots of thing which can be accounted for it like i have read Pakistan invests lot of money in defense and i feel if this money is used for the other things it may lead to its development.Education is the main factor which contribute in the growth of a country which is lacking there. They have the rich natural resources but they don't have the technology to make it to use.The main and important one is the law and order there which needs to be much stornger so that it may control terrosrism there.

hi sjvg, yes you have heard correct Pakistan does spend a lot of money on its defense budget but for the stability and the balance of power in the region there is no other option. India has become the third largest buyers of weapons from the united states what is Pakistan supposed to do? unless there are sincere governments from both India and Pakistan who wish to deescalate the constant tense situation on the borders the situation cannot change. The arms race should be finished and Pakistan and India should live like good neighbors. Yes, Lack of education is a factor hindering the growth and development of the country but lack of technology ?? it doesn't make any sense .... i mean a country can make a nuclear bomb with missile technology able to hit targets with precision to even in Israel but cannot produce sufficient electricity for the country ?? this is really strange and finally terrorism !! that's a really long story i think it should be better left for another discussion. Peace for all.

It should never have been given independence. It was not ready for it. It has had over 50 years to learn how to get it right and failed. The rich have got richer and the poor poorer. The management of the country should be taken over by a charter and run like a business. The politicians can stay and strut and prance to please themselves but the actual running of the country should be taken away from them as they have proved incompetent. I know my comments are heretical to many but my heart is in the right place for Pakistan and her people and would love it to succeed.

Yes, the land is full of natural resources, but the revenue generated often went into the powerful political elite and army Generals deep pockets, many years of military dictatorship, most of the money in Pakistan was plundered by the dictator and stay in his Swiss bank account. The few former dictators from Pakistan are some of the richest people in the world while majority of the population constantly live in perpetual poverty. It is not even a secret anymore most of military General are living very well off while vast number of their civilians are starving.

Its not enough just been naturally rich. One must the knowledge and the wherewithal to utilize it.Pakistan is country where material possession is given less importance and religion and fanaticism rules every mind. They must realize that where there is a will to achieve then nothing is impossible. They must change their mind set .Material well being brings happiness and will curb the tendency to indulge in violence and fanatic acts

Maybe because Pakistan prioritize more the military for war, investing much on the weapon and so on. I am not sure, but this thing happens in every country.

I believe its due to mismanagement of resources in Pakistan that's making it a poor country . Beside terrorism in the country makes it poor. Its said that in Pakistan the problem of terrorism is worst. Huge number of terrorist organisation exits in Pakistan that's big hindrance in making Pakistan a rich country . Lack of education among youth also makes it poor ,education facility in Pakistan is not good . Hare Krishna Ganesh
