I have a big problem, and I feel terrible about it. I got a dog for my daughter it's a Boston/ Rat Terrier mix, the problem is we found out she's a one person dog. She became attached to me! I feel bad.The dog don't go to her, she prfers me. My daughter even spent alot more time than me with the dog. I did reading and it sounds to me that most small dogs are one person. Don't worry I'll be keeping her. I don't ever want to go through rehoming a dog again. The black dog in my profile photo is a Lab mix that was very hard for me to handle due to her behavior problems, I had to rehome her, because neighbors complained about her. That happened about a year and a half ago, I never got over her.I loved that dog. I never want to do that again, it was very depressing for me.This dog I'm gonna keep even if it's a one person. I thought maybe getting a golden retriever, they go to everyone in the family.I have to wait til I'm doing good with money. Has anyone ever got a dog for their child, then it's attached to you? Please tell you're experience or advice.

Personally, I wouldn't trust terriers with children. If picked up scruffily or trodden on they can snap. Some breeds don't respond to food and exercise like others so are more difficult to train. Also rescue dogs can come with a bit of psyco baggage from previous bad treatment or experiences. Better to go for a puppy and put up with mess and naughtyness. So all in all, your daughter would be better off with a Labrador. Much easier all round.

Labs are very nice and they don't act like only one person. They are great family dogs. For me to get another dog I have to wait til I'm working so I can take care of it.I'm out of work, and searching. But once my finances improve, I am seriously thinking of getting a lab.
