great songs by Biggie smalls being destroyed :(

i have been listening to one of my most favorite artists online lately and came across a few remixes with the lyrics of biggie smalls and him rapping but to a modern day rappers beat. :( after i heard these i left a comment on the video complaining to the people and told them that remaking this song like this or any other way is like destroying a masterpiece, i am a huge fan of biggie and thought this remix song was disrespectful. but then i also remembered i am being a hypocrite about this because there is a song a lot of people know and like known as the name Gangstas paradise by coolio and i do love the original but when i heard the Techno Remix (tupac dedication version) i absolutely loved it and thought it was a great party song but i want to know what you guys think of this? am i being a hypocrite about this or am i right?
