I used to handle employee training and orientation of new workers. The first goal in training is to educate people on the proper work attitudes and how to perform their job to the best of their ability. In order to achieve this goal, be sure that the training is well understood with simple words and videos. The trainer must be able to get the complete attention of the trainees by creating a lively discussion. Trainings can be boring and the only way to share the ideas is by encouraging participation. From my experience, workers are particularly motivated by trainings because they want to prove to themselves and the employers that they have chances for improvement and productivity. Discuss problems and possible solutions. Workers will feel important knowing that their ideas and opinions are valued. Show your appreciation for those who excel in the trainings. Be their best example.

I use Powerpoint presentations which are enlarged on a big white screen. I have found that the best means to encourage participation is through questions. If you will entertain questions while you are giving the training, the employees will understand more and will be encouraged to participate in the discussion. It also lessens the boredom of listening to a monotonous monologue. Try to make the presentation as simple as possible since our main goal is to educate and not to impress. I lead by example. I show them the proper work attitude by doing my best on the job. It is easy to speak about proper work attitude but it is best if you show them how it is done.

well, i worked in training for a while and had good experience. the main reason for my success in the professional life was that i enjoyed it. I use to make the training presentations simple enough for members to understand quickly. to motivate them i had to be with them constantly on the floor till the new software/skills are well understood by them. Counselling is very much a part of motivating. positive counselling is an art. need to be patient enough to understand the employee problem and not to ignore them at all . do u have specific problem or just general insights?
