how to take birth control pills?

my friend having a problem.. she was askin me how to take birth control pills? its ok if she take 1 day after the contact? pls help?

Do you mean she missed one??? First off you start either the day your period ends or the (Monday, Tuesday, Wenesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday) after your period STARTS. Keep it the same every month it helps you remember to not forget to start. If you miss a pill take it as soon as you remember. Then continue on your regular schedule. If you miss 3 pills in a one month period. THROW OUT THE ENTIRE PACK!!!!!!! You period will begin within a few days if you haven't gotten pregnant then start over. Also if you skip/miss a pill there is the Morning After Pill aka EC (emergency contraceptive). Contrary to popular belief it IS NOT an abortion pill. It simply keeps an egg in ovulation that has NOT been fertilized sterile. They are available at any local Planned Parenthood. I hope I answered your question if not, please let me know.

I've had EC before but not for skipping pills. But I can't remember the exact brand name. But any Planned Parenthood will help you & find one suited for you. Just like an ob/gyn does with regular birth control pills.

Actually EC can work by stalling ovulation but more often works by its secondary mechanism; preventing implantation. So it can be considered abortive and is classified as such in medical terms. It all depends on when you think life begins...

To make it safe for her, consult an OB-GYNE first before taking any pills. Doctor's can have the safest advice in terms your health condition towards birth control.

I take pills myself but I take it on my first day of my period. You have to check the pills instructions on how to take it:) usually they have a piece of paper with the instructions on the box.

I don't know, I don't use the pill. I use the patch instead.

I have an idea. Tell your friend to take 1 pill, place the pill between her knees, and hold it there until it is no longer needed.
