I notice the smartphone camera embedded in latest smartphone like Iphone, samsung series and other tablet or smartphones has significant improvement either on quality, mega pixel sizes and ease to use. People who used to be point to shot or pocket digital cam lover will have tendency to shift to smartphone mainly due to portability, I meant they do not need to bring separate pocket camera. Understand smartphone has limitation on various lens especially the analog zooming, digital zooming really hard to compete with those analog, however there will be much improvement in the future I believe..what do you think about the development of smartphone camera recently?

I think pocket camera is still better. I have both phone camera and pocket camera. I have compared the result and found that pocket camera had sharper image.

I do think that the cameras in smartphones, are getting better and better as far as taking quality pictures is concerned. You are right, that using the camera on our smartphones, save from having to carry our digital cameras around. I am not sure whether the smartphone camera will ever replace the digital camera, because of the limitations that they do have. I still use my digital camera, and I probably always will. I don't use the camera on my smartphone all that much, since I do have a digital camera, and a camcorder as well. I will say though, that camera would be handy for things that might come up whern you don't have your digital camera handy. Take care, and have a good day.
