How do you prevent having enemies here in myLot?

All of us want to earn and discuss. I am sure these two are our main goals. Having friends is really great and is very satisfying. I was wondering while searching for topics here if anyone has experienced having enemies here in myLot. Or are you very good in positive scripting, and you never offended anyone? How about if he's really annoying? What are you doing?

Dear friend, my career Mylotter about a year and a half, I must say that I found in this site a real group of friends, with whom we share our different opinions and fortunately, until today, no enemy. Yes, in fact, no one is ever allowed to come to me rudely (and this I hope it never happens!). Also because I believe that for many people Mylot is not only with the goal of earning money and nothing more, but we are all part of a large open international community of over 200,000 users. I hope that also you have not created enmities here on this wonderful site!

I'll never create any. Yes. This site is great. I can say that this is the best site among the sites that I also joined last year and few years ago.

I think it's best to take out the 'No enemies' insurance policy they offer you when you first join up. I think it costs about $10 per annum and 1/10th of your earnings, but it's worth it. I didn't bother and I am definitely counting the cost of it now.

I like that insurance policy. I hope everyone is aware that there is a policy like that.

Some people just like to argue and the best you can do when you come across them is ignore them. Giving them any type of attention is just feeding into their need to respond in a negative way. I haven't made any enemies here since i refuse to give in to anyone who's sole purpose is to start an argument. Differences of opinions are one thing and we all have those.but there are ways to disagree with someone without starting a verbal war.

Yes. You are correct. We can disagree in a very polite manner. What's the use of being a rude anyway? We're not here for a heated debate. I am not one of them for I easily get tired.

It's being rude. I typed a noun that needs an "a" article, but was not accepted by the system. I change the noun with an adjective but forget the article. Anyway, that's not a big deal. Why am I explaining this much?

there are really instances that other may get offended from the comments or discussions. But everything can be explained. And important is, u dont mean to hurt someone and if it has to, just explain it well.

I agree with you! With proper explanation, everything can be settled. There's no need for arguments. We need to earn money and friends, not enemies.

Hi Wittynet, You know, just like in WebAnswers, you could simply ignore them. I guess there's a button to flag someone's comments which are against the TOS. It can be tempting to continue arguing with him/her if he really insults you, but try to find that button and hit it. That's all!

You are correct! In my case, I haven't had any enemies yet. It seems that you're so busy. How's your appeal to WebAnswers? You should also send an email to the admin.

There is always going to be someone who doesn't like another's views. On here that happens more often you'd think. I have had it happen to me, and I've also been flat out insulted for no good rason. Most often other mylotters come to the person's defense and things get resolved with the help of the mylot staff very quickly. Other times things must be hashed out on their own, but it all depends on the category of the discussion and the people involved. I say stay away from the political interest as that is thew worst to find some enemies.

Yes. I agree with you. That is the main reason why I really hate politics. My parents, friends, and relatives are not in good terms because of politics. People should know that these politicians don't really care about them. Most of these politicians are user. They are just nice during election because they have hidden motives. After winning in the election, they will no longer remember those people who support them. How sad!

I think that being honest on MyLot is important, as it is a discussion forum where people are supposed to be able to share their thoughts and feelings with each other without being told that their opinions are wrong. I have had a few discussions with people who don't hold the same views as me, but this is alright because they were very polite about their views and explained why they didn't think that my views were correct. There are some people who are just rude, and if you don't want to make enemies on here you should try to make sure that you don't talk to people like they do.

That is correct, GemmaR! We can never encourage all people to always agree with us. What I like in your response is the word polite. That is true. What is the reason for being rude? Are we looking for a fight like Pacquiao and Mayweather?

We cannot avoid other members to feel offended when we do not agree with their opinion, it's not our intention anyway. If we do not agree with other's opinion, it doesn't mean we are trying to offend them- but we are only expressing our opinion since this is a public forum site. But we cannot also void offending others. As long as we do not use rude words (bad/foul words) then it's fine. If they comment back and directly admitted that are offended, just say sorry then and try to avoid those members. There's a lot of members here who understands if other members do not agree with their opinion and they do not feel offended as well. Look for those ones...there are more good members here than rude ones anyway. Enjoy mylotting

Yes. We cannot avoid for not all of us have same opinions. Positive scripting is needed here. If we're rude, what are we looking for? MyLot is not a place for rude people. That's what I believe. Good thing these rude members are outnumbered by good ones.

I prevent having enemies by ignoring someone's sarcastic or annoying remarks (even if at times I get affected ). If I have to avoid that kind of person, I would. Of course I avoid using insulting words to offend others because it's not right.

Twice. If you love joining the discussions in religion, you will encounter one or two. You get into heated discussions with a few but you know it's just a discussion and you can still manage to have amicable discussions around, while you can find one or two who tries to get to your nerves if you don't agree with everything he/she says.

wittnet: welcome to mylot. We are all discussing issues. True some people take it too seriously and personally and feel offended. How I have come to know of this? There are some discussions/responses wherein people have mentioned about another member trying to pull their rating down etc. Nowadays I think such a trend is not there or it is very very less. I have not come across a member with enemical spirits. For me I have a lot of friends here from all over the world -- aged differently -- all of them are so nice to me and I tend to be very good to them. Wherever discussions are not to my liking I skip them -- because there are a lot of discussions in mylot which we can answer and hence we need not worry about odd discussions. have a nice day.

Yes. I also read some posts about negative rating. They emphasized that other members are pulling them down. Well, maybe, it's true. But I am sure there are only a few of them. Yes. If I don't like the discussion or the comment, I leave it. It's the best option because I can never tell if I can still control myself if I respond to this kind of discussion. Yes. I also have many friends here. They are all nice.

Hello wittynet, Hmmm.... as such i did not had any incident which i remember here on Mylot when i had a fight or heated arguement with anybody. But the best way on these social sites to avoid enemies is to be polite to everyone. It does not show a good example to whole community when people fight with each other. One must try to avoid such incident by just leaving that topic once he/she sees that situation is going tense rather to stretch that arguement.

Yes. The main keyword here is polite. If after explaining politely, he's still insisting that he's correct, and you're wrong, leave him politely.

Just put in your views politely and if then also person does not want to agree with you just go away from the discussion as there is no point to argue with the person who does not want to listen to your point which ultimately can convert a discussion in to a heated arguement.

Hello, wittynet. I have offended a few people on here. I didnt mean to at first, but it just got out of hand. I like to have more friends here but sometimes I am afraid to ask people. Some people may be offended with me, so that is why I dont. There are other reasons as well, but the main one is that I had a bad attitude. I swore to myself that I would not ever do that again. Have a great day. :)

Hello, CODYMAC! It's good you know that your attitude is bad. Acceptance of our weaknesses is good because we are aware of it, and we will work to correct them. Don't be afraid to ask them. If misinterpreted, explain your side. We always need to explain so that there will be no misunderstanding.

Not really, Shamann. The main keyword in post #13 is polite. Being polite is not a part of CODYMAC's comments.

One thing to prevent enemies here is to respect very ones opinion. Everyone has different opinion in every discussion we create and it such a waste of time arguing for ones point of view. Were here for friends and to earn not to argue.
@wittynet (4421)

Yes. Respect is very important. Without respect, I am sure everyone here is always having an argument. If we disagrees with one's opinion, we need to respect it. We're not going to say "You're wrong! That cannot be!" What will happen if this is the case? What response should we expect? Of course, negative. Of course, we'll make this person mad. That's the beginning of a heated debate.

I have made enemies and I have dealt with them. If I see a discussion they started I just ignore them! If they anwers to one of my discussions and they are not nice I don't respond back. I usually make enemies becasue someone will piss me off! If it gets worse please report them to Mylot adminatration. They can help and the past year they have gootan alot easier to get hold of and they will help!

Making enemies here isn't such an easy task. If anyone gets offended and then tries to attach another user he will surely get in trouble with Mylot's system. I suppose the next thing is getting banned. Mylot community is very clean because of its strict tos.

Hmmm, we all post different opinions here in mylot. There will be some times when we come across someone who is just too annoying or offensive. But I guess if I come across somebody like that then I'd just probably be civil about it. I haven't experienced being annoyed or insulted yet though there are times when I kinds don't like their comments cause it's different from what I think. What I do, is I just don't reply to their comment and pretend it's not there.

Why do I want to find enemies? Is that what you mean? I was searching for different topics here using myLot search. I noticed that there are so many discussions about adding friend, friends in myLot, and so on. All of them are about friends. I searched for enemies, but I didn't find any. That is why I posted this topic. Aside from this reason, I was also aiming to earn from myLot search tool.

Having an enemy is all up to you. If a fellow myLotter discussed something and you were quite offended. Just ignore it. If you'll just fight back then it would really make a rift between a fellow myLotter. There comes a time that I don't like how a fellow myLotter acts on a discussion, but I ignored it because it would be such a waste of time if I'll gave her an attention.
