Paypal is a popular online payment method which claims it is safe and especially it sounds good to some people who want to buy something online but being worried about the credit card security. However, Amazon doesn't support to pay by Paypal. What do you think about it?

Amazon has been one of the most visited site and if it need paypal helps it need to pay the company for the service. In order to use paypal we need to verified our accounts so we need at least to have a debit and credit card. So amazon does not need paypal because it use the same method of payment as well. Buyers could pay directly from their credit and debit card. No point to have deal with paypal.(^^)

Amazon doesn't have my banking information. I can buy gift cards and add them to my account to pay for the order. Gift cards are available in many places in the United States.

There is always possibility for a site to get hacked even for paypal. These two sites are among trusted sites in world web but they are also not excepted to get hacked and the leak customer banking information. Even that, I agree that some prefer to use paypal as payment medium and at least they could consider to have it but I don't think amazon will do it.(^^)

That is a very good question and one I have asked more than once. I have noticed that some sites I frequest are giving Paypal for an option now. I would write to them and ask them. If enough people ask maybe they will adapt Paypal as an option. Amazon does have some good deals.

That's a good idea. At least we will have one more way to spend the money in our Paypal account.

You can't expect change if you don't communicate what you want and need.

I think they haven't added Paypal is because of the fees. I avoid using paypal because it can end up costing me a lot more than using any other method to pay. Amazon certainly tries to have many items at lower costs, then other sites. I love Amazon, as its one of the sites I can buy items and not pay sales tax and shipping. I live in the state in the United States with the highest charge for sales tax now.

Sometimes big online business doesn't like certain secured Payment Processor due to the fact that it is secured for the consumers, not for itself, so it decided not to use the services. Most of the time, what is good for some people may not turn out to be the desire method for big national retailers, as the rule may deter unscrupulous activities in these big businesses. It always has to be for the benefit of themselves first before everything else, it may include cost calculation, processing fee, and etc....Yes, Paypal is safe for many people but it may not be desirable factor for big nline businesses when it is a bit harder for some of them to cash in on 'insecurity'.

Amazon wants to sell items therefore avoids paying in cash, they either want to redeem your points through their items or pay by check with lots of processing charges. That is part of their strategy but that is how things stand.

Amazon is a big online ecommerce platform and they partner with big online banks like citi, american, overseas etc and also they have created there own payment gatewya. So that is why they do not choose paypal because they have already various types of payment methods which can cover payment to all over the country. In many sites withdraw can happen amazon payment gateway system rather than paypal.

But adding one more payment method shall not be bad for the customers.
