HOW TO RESOLVE A DISCUSSION?

Can anyone help me in this. What is the use of resolving a discussion?

if you can select a best response for your discussion then it will be resolved . the selected best respondent feels satisfied and encouraged to respond more . perhaps it also gives few more points and a little more money !
