Many automated system might provide convenience to majority of customers, especially online bill pay which is commonly provided in every bank nowadays. But still, that doesn't mean those computer machine have done what they asked to do, they might also make system error, or mistake from time to time. Once, a friend told me that his bank bill - pay paid twice the same amount his electric bill, and he was so furious about it after he read an online statement. He has to made a couple of calls to his bank to correct this error. So, don't always trust those automated system, from time to time, you have to check on the statement to follow up your payment and expenses, otherwise, you might overpaid it.

Yeah with anything with technology, it is only as good as the person who created the system. And sometimes it can be really trustworthy, but there are times where it inadvertently perhaps takes a bit more out of your account or perhaps doesn't register the bill paying that you did. Or so that is really some the stories that I have heard. That is why I never want to pull the trigger for automated bill pay, it is just so much that goes wrong. There are just times where if there are going to be blunders, it is going to be on my own. There are just going to be times where an automated system is just really something that is just going to be sketchy. It is imperfect. Anyone who uses it(and there are many for sure), I would highly advise rather keeping notice of everything and keeping an eye on everything. Don't trust that everything is going to be honest when something is automated. It could be in many cases but there is just that one time.

A pleasant day kingparker, Doing transaction online surely brings a lot of help to us. Especially if we are too busy and cannot find time to go to the payment centers to remit our payments. Hence, in a snap of our fingers, we have done and transacted the payment. However, in doing all of these, we should also consider and take the necessary precautions. As we all know, internet is very vulnerable to hackers, spammers and the likes. So, in doing transactions over this medium, we should taking into consideration that we must do some visit and checking of our accounts regularly. Hence in this way, we are assure that our accounts are protected. Let us be vigilant in every online transaction that we do. Just like the inventors of anti-virus softwares, sometimes, they are the one who also invents the virus so that their anti-virus will surely be sold.

Well as of this time, the only thing i trust with anything related to online banking is just viewing of balance. anything related to payments of bills, transfer or money, etc i still prefer doing it over the counter, even if the line is long.. at least with that i get to get a printed output and proof of my transaction. =)

Yep, I also don't trust this. I work in a call center and the account I'm working under involves a subscription program where the payment is on a monthly basis. A lot of customers are complaining, and even blaming us for subscribing their account on this monthly service. I really think our system signs them up automatically and charges their card on a monthly basis. The downside about this is we (representatives) are the ones taking the fire.

I rarely use any online payments unless there is no other payment options. I prefer going to the bank and paying straight to the counter. If there is any payment online where I am required to use like my credit card, I make sure that I keep on checking my transcation to make sure that no one else gain access to my account.

I feel that automated systems are very convenient for most people and can save us a lot of time and they are fast and eay to use also. However, it doesn't mean that they can't make a mistake. They can make a mistake so I always double check the transactions and review everything to make sure there was no error...
