favorite thing to do while swimming??

when i wasin high school i was on the swim team and i wasalways the one doing the back stoke or the butterfly for either the relay races or individual. where i lived as a kid there was a pool in the neighborhood and i always had a great time. i would practice swimming the pool (this was before i was in high school. i was always what they called "a water bug". i would count how long i could hold my breath, i would do hand stands, collect change i threw on the bottom or the little rings that sink, play marco polo that was the game back then lol, or i would just relax and enjoy the day. sometimes i would lay out and just tan by the pool.
my grandpa use to take me to the pool almost every morning and we had so much fun. i miss doing those things with him. may b thats y i dont go swimming much ne more.
since i like water so much i would like to know what your favorite thing to do when you go swimming is :)

Good discussion! I had done all that you had mentioned when I was small. I think I really liked playing Marco Polo, seeing how far on the bottom of the deep end I could go, as well as getting coins and such from the bottom of the pool. I never got swim lessons or ever swam on a team. I would like to get my kids lessons but like anything that costs money I don't have.

lol i use to do that to at the deep end. i loved diving tho wish i would have found a diving team i am sure i would have enjoyed that lol. i would love to be able to get it for my kids when they were old enough but i know we wont have the money either. i think i had them when i was really really young but i lived with my grandparents and they had the money but i dont remember much about it. i hear they are teaching them even younger now. when i was a kids Marco Polo was the est game EVER lol we played every time there was a pool party or me and a few of my friends planned to meet up there :) sometimes i miss those days lol

I used to go for swimming with my cousins. We used to play lock and key from the water. I love playing it.

sounds like you had a lot of fun. my aunt had a pool at her house so it was always fun to go swimming with her and my cousins :)
i have never heard of the game lock and key....what kind of game is it?

I use to like to play in the pool all the time. But now i just like to float around the pool. I do play with my children and pull them around and throw them into the air but me and my husband take turns on that so mama still has her relaxing time. LOL.

@JDAW -- i think if i am ever able to get my kids some floaties we should all go to the pool at grandmas and spend the day together :) the kids would have a great time and may be your son can teach my oldest to actually let go of me ormy husband lol. the last time we took her she was to scared to just float around she wouldnt let go i guess she was afraid of falling under the water haha but she is older now so it could be diffrent :)
