Can amateur pictures earn me money?

March 7, 2012 3:29pm CST
I really enjoy taking pictures with my Sony DSR, especially of flora and fauna. I have been searching the web to find sites to upload them and earn myself a little bit of cash on the side. Can anybody recommend easy to use sites?

Isotckpohoto is the only place that I have found so far I signed up but I haven't used it yet I love taking photos too, it's just been really hectic here lately! Any ways hope this helps!

Thank you Sarah, I will give this a try. I know what you mean with being busy. I have a few good pictures, I just seem to be lacking the time to upload them.

The only site I ever really tried was Big Stock Photo. Unfortunately my attempts didn't go well as every single picture I submitted was rejected (some for what I thought were extremely asinine reasons but that's another story). Eventually I just got fed up and gave up on the site. What about amateur photography contests you could enter? There was one I had thought about entering that was for pictures of pets. Supposedly there are three or four "sub-contests" (forget the proper word for it) where a winner is chosen for the particular quarter (every three months) and ultimately the grand winner of the year gets $1,000.

You should always try. Every time you have an opportunity, take pictures. Maybe try first sites like flickr to get intention. Let people help you to improve your pics and then go to the next step and try to sell them.
