internet surfing

How safe is the internet from surfing? What do we need to do so that our children will be safe from the things that our children shouldn't be seeing in the internet at their very young age? Sometimes children knows how to explore the internet better than we adults do. Do we need to be alarmed by this?

i think you should let them know the world, let them explore it, you just keep an eye at their back so that if they go wrong, feels wrong then you can correct them indirectly without them knowing that you are keeping log of everything

Most parents just leave their children to do whatever they want with internet. I have seen some parents who even signup their children on social network like Facebook and even uploads their kids photos on it. It irks me to see a very young child posing too sexy in those social network websites. How do you let your child use internet without even bothering to check what they are doing with it? I just think we need to be more responsible.
