I love my cats both of the two I have although they are very different, the one is really slow going and prefers to lie still most of the, while the other cat is almost always up to trouble, so I got the two extremes of cats, that is actually very true, the one is almost without fur, while the other is semi longhair (that is they are Russian Don Sphynx and Ragdoll). I really like them both, especially when they want to be comfortable around me, otherwise they sleep a lot, mostly the slow one, but cats generally sleep some 18 hours a day, and is mostly awake in the twilight as that is when they are going to catch mouse most likely, however my active has not really understood this, as he sleeps in my bed at that time. (at least in the morning) But why do you love cats ?

The same reason we love all animals. We like how they look, the way they react when we pet them, when they see us coming home. They depend on us to survive, don't know if they are capable of love, but they like to stick around us. Cats purr and they love to rub against our legs, arms. I like animals in general not only cats. My grandparents have 2 dogs and a cat and I play with all of them when I go and visit.

I think when a cat rubs against your leg it is a sign of devotion, at least it plants scent on you to mark you as belonging to them, that should be be cause they care. Purring is also in many situations a good indication of a cat that feels well.

one of my cats seem to think he is to grown up to react to a mouse crawling on the floor, however if it turns a corner so he cannot see it anymore, then he has to run after it, that is really funny. He also have the idea that when I throw something he fetch it, almost like a dog, but not for long.

Mrbytes, I couldn've stayed away from this post if I'd wanted to since you're talking about one of my favorite subjects animals, specifically cats. I love, love , love cats. And let me tell you, anyone who loves cats has a special place in my heart. And for those who don't care for cats I say own a cat for a good length of time and you'll understand. But I love cats because when I was in my very early twenties a co-worker gave me the prettiest white fur, blue-eyed little kitten I'd ever seen. I remember keeping him in my car while I worked my shift that day and calling my mother on my lunch break to see if she'd let me keep him. I knew she would if I begged hard enough. And let me tell you, I did. She hated cats...that's really an understatement. I'd never had one up 'til then and didn't care much about them one way or the other. I named my little fellow Sylvester. LOL!! And he was a riot. My mother even came around and started to like him...some. I had that cat for about three years before he accidentally got out of the house and came back 2 days later ill. He had contracted fiv and he went down straightaway. I took him to the vet the very next day he returned home and they told me there was nothing more they could do and that he should be put to sleep. That was oh so heartbreaking. I couldn't even consider another cat after that. But years later I got a tom from a neighbor and named him KeKe. He was hilarious and so mischievious, like your one cat. Truly the love of my life. I had him for 14 years and he's seen me through lots of good and bad times. When I lost him I was devestated. His sister Ms. Kitty is still with me. She's very reserved and people-shy. Sny knock on my door sends her flying under my bed. I also have a maltese named Chloe, which I got from my mother. I love cats because they are so sweet and loving, even when they're being troublemakers. I love that they can entertain themselves and can be their own boss. I love cats because someone first introduced me to the joy of owning a cat and now I am hooked for life. Your cats sound so much like Ms. Kitty and KeKe. Gotta love it!

The one of my cats actually also hides when new peoples come around, but if it is somebody he knows, he appears eventually, to take his place in the couch, the other cat always wonna meet new people as long as they do not bring a dog (that is since we also have dogs), the active cat who I called Gizmo (the other is called Goofy), seems to like to chew plants (especially those it has been told it can't eat, and several times at that. Also Gizmo likes to play with the dogs, they are also quiet small at least for dogs, although they really don't understand each other they still try, perhaps they will succeed in communicating at some point, who knows.
