Everything bothers me . . . EVERYTHING!!!

Just the other day, I called this call centre for computer repairs, and the call was (thankfully) received by a girl. Boy! Did she have the perfect speech or what! Speech has always been one of my weak points, I have always had a hard time expressing myself through childhood and even now. I completely understand and consider the fact that she is paid to speak perfectly, but what I wouldn't give to speak that perfectly. I thought about it the whole day. I just wish I can speak so well someday.

I believe that you have the ability to speak and express yourself. The moment you were born, you expressed yourself by sounding your first cry. As we grow up, we learn to speak, we learn to communicate, we learn to express the things we want others to know. By the way you write, I believe that you can put it to words. The real problem is not how you speak but the fear of speaking so well. You fear that you might disappoint yourself by not speaking with eloquence. I just learned that Rome was not built in a day. It means that speaking can be developed and improved until is well. Keep on and you'll speak with substance, with power, and with the ability to persuade. I believe.

I agree with the above comment. Even stroke victims can learn to talk again with almost no impediment whatsoever. All it takes is a little effort and some time and you should be able to communicate with the best of them.

That is true. I think it's the fear itself. It ruins everything, I tend to have that kind of habit when all those negative thoughts consume the space in my mind, and there would be nothing left of the thing that I should emphasize or get to the point. But I guess, you just really have to practice, just don't mind what other people say if you get mistakes, after all it's for your own good. Do not fear 'fear', I always say that to myself every time I deliver my piece and then I'm okay with it. There's anxiety but no nervousness at all.

Those that work in a call centre undergo training so they better talk in a perfect tone, diction, grammar etc. I have difficulty in communication just like you and ever since I find it really hard to express myself especially when I have to talk in a crowd. With this people don't really understand and know where to react with me. It affected my schooling too and slowed down my confidence. I have the same hopes as you. And little by little I'm making my way through and hopefully I will rich my goal. Then, I was thinking of applying in a call centre too just to have the training. :))

It all takes practice. For speakers, that is what they are going to tell you too. :D I mean, they are of course not that well versed until they get used to doing the same thing over and over and they become accustomed to it, and improved on it. I am sure you too can achieve it. All you need to do is always converse by the manner that you want and eventually you will feel as if you are born to be that great in speaking. :D

That is the result of extensive training. Call center workers have to undergo training, seminars and tests before they are allowed to be on the job. Once they gain the necessary experience on the job, they tend to become better. Practice always makes perfect. If you are doing that particular job everyday of your life, there is no reason why your speaking abilities will not improve. Same with our writing skills. As we continue on participating in these kinds of forums, we improve and get better.

Well you can take some classes on spokesman club or else. You it is never too late to put into action what you can do. Most of the time what can stop us to go forward is money and the will of doing things.

It's good that you had the opportunity to speak to someone who you were able to understand and commend on their perfect speech. There are times when you call a center and the person on the other end is totally unable to be understood. This too bothers me. Glad you had a good experience
