Hyperthyroidism is caused by an over activity of the thyroid gland. One of the symptoms is eye swelling. For if your thyroid glands are changing in size, there will be increased pressure inside your head. Please read http://www.medicinenet.com/hyperthyroidism/article.htm for more information. Word of caution: do not just rely on what the website says. You should go see a doctor.

If you suffer from Thyroid Eye disease, the best course of action on your part is to seek out experienced eye doctor for solution, don't try anything without first consult with your eye doctor, your eye is too vital a part of your organ you want to mess around with, once you apply the wrong natural/alternative remedy, it could cost you your eye vision at the worst, and it is too great a risk for you to take, my personal advice is to seek a licensed and experienced eye expert to do a thorough examination to find the root causes, and then go on from there. ....

It seems you are supposed to be suffering from exophthalmos. So what you need immediately is a clinical examination by an ophthalmologist and some blood tests to detect levels of Thyroid stimulating hormone or in short TSH, T3 and T4 in blood along with lipid profile and post prandial blood sugar estimation. Then comes the question of management. Unless you find out the actual cause behind, you can not find out the remedy of it.
