Honour Killings

I have just been watching a programme on BBC 1 about honour killings in the UK. I think it is disgusting that Asian mainly Pakistani or Muslim men feel that it is acceptable to kill a women if they bring honour to their family. I think that if a man cannot accept that a woman is equal to them they should not be allowed to marry, I think that punishing women, killing them due to shame being brought on the family is wrong and should not be acceptable in the UK. If Muslim people want to come to the UK they should feel safe and not have to live as they would in a backward country. And since they are living in this country they should not have to live by stupid family honour laws. As far as I am concerned the only way the UK can start to address this is to either : 1) stop girls/woman being allowed into the country to be married 2) Stop Muslims entering the country and as such it would stop the honour killings.

Killing in general is wrong unless of course it is in self defense. No one has the right to take another's life just for the reason of honor or other things of that type of nature and worse. It is murder no matter how you justify it.
