drug addiction is a great curse on our society. it has already spoiled the lives of many, and things are getting alarmingly worse day by day. the problem of drug addiction has assumed such a great dimension that it is one of the greatest problems of our country today. drug addiction is widespread among teenagers- the budding hopefuls of our country. the narcotic influence of drugs attract them and gradually they become addicted to them. the frustrated young men and women take to drugs to get momentary pleasure and relief through drowsiness. but taking such fatal drugs has a destructive effect on human body, very often resulting in acute paralysis of both body and mind and finally leading to death. these drugs are usually smuggled into the country through the border areas mainly from Pakistan and Nepal. and the unscrupulous businessmen of our country make large profits by selling these drugs in the black market. to root out this drug abuse, not only the drug pedlars, but also the main racketeers who have their chain all over the country must be severely punished. and our government has already taken affective measures to eradicate this menace. the police are always on the alart and have been able to seize large quantities of narcotic drugs at different places of our country. but the government alone cannot achieve the desired result without public co-operation. so the clubs and culture organisations in different localities should carry on anti-drug campaigns and seek police help, whenever nessesary. parents should be very watchful over the movement and behaviour of their wards. in our country drug addiction is still in its infancy. so we should leave no stone unturned to nip this evil in the bud.
