Now that forums, social networking sites and other means of communication are now circulating we are also updated to the issues around the world especially the crimes. Now we can at least react on the things that is happening around the world. I just observed on how people give sympathy to the victims of crime. Even if that crime is 2 decades ago already people still tend to give reactions regarding the crime. Example there is the Concrete-Encased High School Girl murder in Japan I've also seen a forum wherein the thread starter is serious of the fact that he wants to make revenge. Whereas that post is already 2008 or 2010 (I can't remember), though it is really wrong to make revenge for that suspect but the point is even strangers were affected of that history and gave violent reaction to that suspect because 8 years of imprisonment is not enough for them. Meaning the forums and social networking sites are also medium that all people around the world are sincerely concern with other people in another country. At least we can see how they sympathized. Whether the victim of crime is not prominent, well known or a celebrity then people are still showing how much they empathize to other people.

This is one of the best things about social networking. Everybody can share their opinion, rather than the news which is supposed to be objective, but sometimes clearly is not. Also many people's perspectives are shown that would never have fit in the time structure of past methods. The empathy and helpfulness on these sites is awesome.

At least we have the means of expressing our own opinion and reaction towards the incident or a crime.
