In my previous post, I mentioned about my concern with the smell of the ube chiffon.. I did taste it and I didn't quite like the taste.. It didn't even smell delicious and fragrant like goldilock's ube chiffon.. Anyone can share a better cake recipe than what I have?? I really love ube cake..

Instead of using Ube Flavoring, mix some Ube flour (a flour that is made of natural purple yam) or maybe just make a plain chifon roll and just give frost it with ube icing. Youtube also have some recipes for ube cake too. these muffins might work too: http://bucaio.blogspot.com/2011/02/natural-ube-muffins.html

Ube powder will work, The best brand for flavoring is Ferna, Ferna have Ube flavoring as one of their products and it tasted good. I think Ferna is available in groceries and malls.

Ube yam - Filipino favorite dessert
I like ube but sorry I am not into baking expert. I can only eat but can't bake a complicated cake like ube chiffon. All that I could bake is simple banana or vanilla cake. However I love purple yam. I like it when eaten just as is. I also like purple yam in halo-halo.

Ube cake is absolutely fantastic for me as well! There are some foods that are harsh on your nostrils but definitely explode on your taste buds. Usually the first bites are the ones we don"t like, but as we try it out for the long run, our tongue adjusts to the flavor giving it a better taste.
