Is It Easy To Be A Working Student?

I delight to seek for answer to this query. Is it easy to be a working student. I hope to hear from the working studes themselves. It is always different to get insights from the observers and that of from the actual performers. Being a working student is always part of an option to simply keep going to school when the family bread winners cannot send their family member to school. Most of these students actually excel in the class despite of their being a working people. I practically admire them for their being so hardworking both in their academic tasks and work. Now, I wonder if it is easy to really be a working schooler. I guess, some of you can give real answers.

I was once a working student and I can honestly say that being a working student full-time, is never an easy task. It's not easy but it's not impossible to achieve excellence in class. I had to deal with little time to do my homework and assignments. Little time to study my lessons, and of course the lack of sleep because my work schedule is on a night basis. After some time, I resigned because I can no longer bear the demand in my physical body.

Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences. Such lives inspire me more to encourage students whose family cannot really afford their education especially college. Yes, nothing is definitely impossible if you really have the will to finish your education and go on achieving every dream of your life. God bless you all working students!

Hi Keshlois! Here in the Philippines, the dilemma with working students is that once they get a hold of money from being gasboys or McD staff is that they wanted to earn more such that they end up stopping in school. And when the time comes that they have decided to go back to school, they find it a challenge because they have had other priorities in life. Take for instance my best friend in the university.. He is an architectural student. His parents didnt have ample money to provide thru his schooling, so he decided to help himself by applying as a drafsman. He sure has been earning money alright during our college years such that he was so much into his job. As he had challenges with work due to physical stress, he stopped schooling. After some more years, his batchmates had all graduated and had good employement while he... he is still a draftsman while the rest of his classmates are all licensed architects. If he didnt stop schooling, he had been most likely gotten a job faster than anyone else because of his experience. He attempted to go back to school but because of so mnay projects at hand, he couldnt finish them all.. he is now 35 years old and yet, he has not graduated...

Hi, that is the risk. Well, maybe the student need to figure out what he really wants to be in the future so to have a focus on a specific goal so that nothing along the way can alter the direction. If they want to finish school, they have to finish it no matter what then when done they will get back to whatever they want to do.

i was a scholar and working student when i was in college. my scholarship paid my tuition and other fess while my work paid for my rent, transportation, and other necessary expenses. i would tell you that it was not easy. as a scholar, i had to keep my grades within certain standards. then, i worked after school hours. but i told myself, it would only last for four years. after graduation, it was an easy transition for me to find job and start with it.

Are you talking about most school students or University students are included? Because I used to work to when I was in the fifth semester. I worked in an English center in the afternoon and also I had some private students at home in the evening. In the morning, I focus on my study and I did my assignments at night when everybody had gone to sleep. :) At least I could pay my own tuition and paid for my books. It doesn't mean that my parents didn't help me, though. I just wanted to learn standing on my own feet.

I am currently in school studying Political Science. For me personally having a job and attending school right now would not work out to well. However, I am a non-traditional student. I have children and am not straight out of highschool. I was accepted into the Honor Program which has special classes at specific times. being that law school is not easy to get into, I need these classes to help set me apart from the thousand other students applying. (The law school that I want to go to only accepts around 150 students a year.) This means that I would have to get a second shift job in order to take these courses. The problem with that is that the only jobs open around here are full time. I would only see my children twice a week since I am in school during the day. I personally couldn't do that. I have high respect for students who are able to both work and go to school, but I couldn't do it right now.

I have been a working student in the past and it was pretty hard, but it was neccesary for me to study and work at the same time. When I got back from school and I just wanted to relax after a busy day at school, but I had to leave for work. When I got back from work I was always tired, and sometimes I didn't manage to study as much as I had planned. After a while I decided to change the way that I studied and become an online student instead. That made things much easier for me, because as an online student I was able to plan my time in a different way. I didn't have to go to classes and I could study whenever I wanted. Sometimes I worked days and sometimes I worked nights, and I was able to plan my studies according to that.

It is not easy to do two things simultaneous. I have tried and partly succeeded. I was studying Law when i was managing my father's bakery business. I did get success in my law exams but i think my business suffered. Its difficult to manage both with equal zeal and enthusiasm

Hi kesh, For me working student is hard, you need to adjust your time for study and work and I am talking based on my own experience. I have times that I have to get off at work early and go home to study hard for the next day exam and also there are times that I was at school and my work called me to show up to work due to lack of workers. I learned to adjust my time to study and work and you always have to make a list of studies or work that you need to do day by day basis for you not to forget due of being really tired from work or stressed out from quizzes or exam. I always set my alarms for what I have to do or I list them on my notes. But I know and I believe that nothing's hard if you really want something work. If you want to finish your school but having problem with financial then you have to work and be a student at the same time, motivation and dedication are the secret here.;-)

It is not easy to be a working student. But if we are ready to work hard, success is surely with us. We can succeed in both the fields. Hard working is very essential for success. We must work hard to achieve more. We all should have great dreams in life. But, the dreams as long as you are not ready to take practical steps to make it a reality. There is only one way for it and that is hard work. Nobody has achieved anything great in life without toil. You should have a mentality to sacrifice anything and do everything for success.

i used to be a working student. it wasn't that hard just as long as you know how to manage your time. i used to work as a private tutor, a costumer service representative and a franchise dealer of Avon. but then when i added more classes the next semester, i stopped working as a customer service representative. the hardest of them all is being a CSR because it was a night shift but good thing i was able to get through it. i wasn't a bread winner but i just needed more for my allowance and since i took up a medical course, i paid so much for school stuffs. now i am looking for another work, maybe after holy week, i am up for job hunting.

Hi. I am working and at the same time i am studying. it is not easy to do both but i have no other option because i need to work for me to finish my studies. If i have the support i would rather choose to study online. i wish and hope and pray that i could focus on my study.

As a working student i can say that it can be very difficult sometimes.I am studying to become a vet and that means that i have to do 6 years of university.noe it is almost done because i am in my 5 th year, but i worked from my first year and sometimes was really hard, most of all because i had classes from the morning till the evening and it was also very much study to do.Somehow till now i managed to do both.I can say that i am a very good student because i have always been in top 5 results in my class(and that means more then 100 students). I believe the secret of me managing to do both is the fact that i love the university that i have choosed to study,i really wish to be the best in my job,i always wanted to be a vet and most of all i always feel good when i know that everything that i achived is the result of my work. i always feel empty if i don't work or study.
