I will be going to DFA on Wednesday early morning to make authentication. But I have a problem I don't know what will I bring. Since the papers I will be processing on that day are the personal documents of my aunt. She asked me to Authenticate the Documents like Birth Certificate, Death Certificate of her late husband my uncle as well and their Marriage Contract. Is there anything I will be bring to me? So that I can finished the authentication accordingly? Please advise.

Best thing to do is call DFA's hotline before going there in person. It'll save you time and effort by knowing what to bring. You have to ask your aunt also where she's going to use the DFA authenticated documents because in most cases the NSO issued certificates you mentioned are already acceptable. getting an authenticated copy may not be necessary at all and you'll only be spending extra money for nothing.

She's applying for Italian Citizenship.

I'm not aware of the requirements for italian citizenship but as far as visas are concerned, embassies gave more weight to the documents issued by the NSO. which is basically the same document that DFA will attach a red ribbon on. The only difference is the extra sheet of paper with the red ribbon in it but the attachment is still the same document that you can get from the NSO. Cost wise, it will only cost you a few hundred pesos if you go straight to the NSO whereas it costs more than a thousand pesos if you request for DFA's red ribbon.

of course you need to bring your identification cards, plus an authorized letter from your aunt. i think you need to bring also i few proof that you are relatives. good thing your aunt is adult already, if you are going to process documents of minors you still need to get another document from DSWD before you can process the following documents. getting the red ribbon is easy. DFA new building has a good processing style as long as you bring the right documents. goodluck

if i were you, i would check the website of DFA or call its hotline to confirm what documents you need to bring to be able to proceed with the authentication process. it would save you a lot of time if you have the correct documents and prepare them in advance before going there. what's the red ribbon in the title of the discussion?

hey dude..where are you located? if ur from the province and would still have to go to manila just for red ribbon..might as well go to a travel agency and let them do it...you'll save time, energy and money coz i believe you wont get it on the same day as well...inquire in your nearest travel agency for this ,,,
