What Is Up With Google Verification?

Google Adsense verification has become torture for me lol. I try to put the chosen verification options in everyway possible 99% of the time I get nowhere. Google Adsense rejects my MetaTag and Tracking code placements. Many forums don't allow file upload or server changes are off limits to the customer.
