i still can't get use to the thing about not being able to smoke anywhere. to make matters worse they are even thinking about making cigarette not legal to smoke in public at all. this could be a rumor, but i don't put it past them. they have already taken our right to smoke in front of buildings, in bars, even at some bus stops. this is screwed up to me, of course because i am smoker. i also happen not to be in to the second hand smoke hype generated from non-smokers. they are the one's who complained enough to get us to this state. "oh, the cigarette smoke bothers me, whoo, whooo, whoo". what about the pollution in the air, the carbon from the cars, the stuff in the air because of NASA experiments. why don't some non-smokers (ant-smokers that is) go live in another part of the world where there are no pollutants. better yet, live in bubble. right now, i am in starbucks. i payed to be there just like anyone else. why should i have to pack up all my stuff and my laptop, just to go outside and smoke, then come back in again and unpack? because of those dumb little whiny anti-smokers. what an inconvenience. if i am in the rain and want to stand under shed and smoke a cigarette, why shouldn't i. if someone doesn't like the smoke, they could move just like i can. i don't plan on going to jail, but if i did the least i would like to do is have a cigarette, but no. instead you got whiny complaining to everyone that the smoke is bothering them......in jail. no everyone has to deal with agitated inmates who want a cigarette. do you think these dumb no smoking are exaggerated and out of control?

you have put this discussion in healthy living....and you still want to smoke. smoking is injurious to health so would really suggest you to quit smoking all together. in india, it is not allowed to smoke in public places at all, besides, people are charged in case found guilty.

well, this is the u.s.a. it still supposed to be free here. i am sorry that that you don't have some basic freedoms that we still have. our government tries to interfere with our personal lives, but we have a constitution that always out rules that. this is why they still have not banned smoking all together. as for me posting in this section...smoking verses non smoking is a health topic. thank you for your post.

i think that they should also ban foods that you like to eat that may be unhealthy for the public. i think they should ban junk food and limit the way we eat. i KNOW you are not a healthy eater like you should be. this causes cancer too. let me tell you, you eat far more than you smoke. i think they should make people mandatory exercise and have to report it to the government or else you get a fine. don't get me started with the gestapo stuff. i know how to be a fascist if you want to go there. thanks to you to, by the way. no beef with you. i am thankful for your point of view. thanks for making this conversation interesting.

yeah, you are in USA. please do not feel sorry for me as i do not smoke and feel that all govt should ban smoking as our country has done. not only smoking is injurious to health, passive smoking is all the more injurious. I am happy i in a country which is concerned about everybody's health. thanks

I think that there needs to be something in place so that people who don't smoke don't need to be in the presence of others who are smoking because it is dangerous to their health. However, I do think that there needs to be places where people can smoke, because I respect the fact that they choose to smoke just as much as I choose not to smoke at all. But I don't know where they could fit into the average public space, and I don't know how people would react to have to go to specific places in order to smoke.

why don't they do what they have always done in the past and have a smoking and non smoking section. i guess that still wasn't good enough for non smokers who want to protect their health ("big health guru perfectionist"...lol. yeah right).

that is interesting. what state do you live in? is that a state wide policy or just in her particular complex? it's not a state wide thing here. just in this particular complex i know of. that's crazy isn't it?
