The Great Escape...

Almost Recently, for my sisters' birthdays, I gave them each a hamster. They are both female and live together in a spacious cage. The rest of the family is going to the UK for an Easter break, so as per usual, the pets were dropped down to my place for their own little holiday. I put the cage in the kitchen, beside one of my own furries' cage, and within 30 seconds of me leaving the room our African Grey had climbed down from his cage. He climbed up on top of the hamster cage and proceeded to investigate, knocking the water bottle off the cage. Now, a few hours later, I come downstairs from my shower to find the water bottle on the floor again and THE CAGE DOOR OPEN! I freaked and lifted the lid on their little house and thank God they were still in there. You've got to love nocturnal animals. Needless to say the cage is now in the sitting room!

Sounds like that African Grey wanted the little girls to come out and play. You better watch those three!

He's used to letting the lovebird out of her cage every morning, what's the difference with the hamsters? lol. It's definitely had work keeping an eye on that bird, he's full of mischief!

I have never had hamsters, but you reminded me of the rabbits I once had, many years ago. The rabbits were never IN their cages, in spite of them being the right measures so that they would not get out. Several years later, I sat by another lady in an airplane. She looked at me and said: I know you. I was amazed. It was a flight from Puerto Rico to Chile. Impossible!, I said. She asked me if I used to live in xxx street and I said yes. She said that I came by her house everyday to ask her if she had seen my rabbits Now I´m inot plants. They stick to where I plant them

Haha, plants are definitely easier to locate than rabbits when out and about lol. We have rabbits which used to run free in the garden (fenced in), but they have now been relegated to the shed (big shed) and run loose in there as the garden was recently done up!

I worked in a preschool that had a hamster. Yes, he got away, more than once. One time we found him several days later. I guess you were really lucky that they were more interested in sleeping than escaping right away. I hope you make it through the entire vacation without any serious escapes.

Hahaha! they definitely have their own little personality's. Be glad they are still there!!.lol My daughter had a gerbil once that has gotten out of his cage and climbed down into the air conditioning ducts...we couldn't get him out for two days... I was so scared he was going to starve or die of dehydration.lol

Hamster is lovely, I also wish somebody will send me a pet.hamster 's color is beautiful ,like small rabbit. I find pet is interesting, and can tell universe truth to human. When I was a child, I raise a cat,the cat is so clever, its voice is mysteries, and sweet. Now I am married, The cats becomes wild ,they often in group come tot my house ,I love them tot putt emotion seriously ,and remind me the cats may be generation or relatives of the cats I raise before. The cats can climb tree, runs pass iron slice net, they are so flexible I even heared cat call when I cannot sleep.Other animals are also full of heart. Thanks for them.
