Ok so to make a long story short I'm in a great mlm company and it's expanding quickly. I want to pay people $10for each customer they refer that orders the product however I currently have no way of knowing for sure where the new customer came from without the customer saying "Hay so and so sent me to your site" Does anyone know how I could keep track of where the referrals came from other than having them tell me?

Isn't there any tracker on the website itself? Most sites have it. If your site doesn't have it, you have to use some external tools like AdTracker, Adminder etc. But they are charging $30 per month. That's too much, I feel. I would suggest to look in your affiliate area itself. There will be more information. (Some sites keep it simple, like if you add "src=xxxxxx" to your affiliate link, that becomes the source. So, if you are posting at MyLot profile, you can keep your affiliate link as "http://yoursite.com/?affid=yourid&src=MYLOT") Otherwise, I think you have to depend on your visitors only.

In SFI online network marketing, we have this what we call "keycode tracking" where you add your chosen code of numbers attached to your referral URL. Do you have that in your MLM company's website? I know most modern MLM companies, they have something like that to help members track their progress.

Okay, first of all, I am quiet confuse with the system. It's a MLM program, so rather than bring customer to you to buy the product, why don't your downline sell the product by themselves? But generally, you want to track where the sales comes from, and not only the visitors, right? I believe if the site itself doesn't provide tracking feature for sales, then you can't do anything except asking your customer directly. Because if it's for sales, it's inside the system, and no external resources are being able to track it.

Well the mlm I'm in is a health product for weight loss and to build muscle etc... So many people are in for the health reasons, and I'm having a very difficult time trying to find people interested in the mlm part of it. So my thought was maybe if I offered to pay a few of my friends, family, or others $10 per person they sent to my link that become customers or promoters,... it might inspire them after a few people signing on to notice ( hey I'm able to do this ) then maybe they'd sign on as promoters themselves to make more money. The nice thing is I have 60 days to move anyone anywhere in my downline so say if person A sent persons b,c,d,and e to my link,.. then 30 days later person A decides what the heck I might as well just join myself and earn more,.. I can take b,c,d, and e and place them under person A since it was person A's work that got them to join anyhow. Problem is if b,c,d, and e don't tell me "hey person A sent you" I can't do that because the company doesn't provide us with tracking ability. ugh!
