In Hollywood movies they make adult actors play teenage roles, and they also make teenage actors play child roles. In the Philippines they make 15 year old girls play the role of a lawyer or an office woman in her 20's. They also just paired up a 16 year old actress to a 30 year old guy (he is lucky to win all those awards cos most actors his age would be playing the role of her dad) and they were playing childhood sweethearts. In Hollywood most characters who are on their 20's or 30's , are played by actors and actresses on their 40's.....even 50's In the Philippines, characters who are on their 20's are usually played by teenagers. In the Philippines the prime of career is at age "18 to 28" In Hollywood its 30 to 40. In Hollywood actors and actresses audition for their roles, In the Philippines the roles were tailor made for them.

i think what our entertainment industry is not able to do is to make some 40 year old women a love story because its not the usual things we are used to seeing. we know that for us when a woman is in her 40s he should already be a mother, or a single mother battling with some other problems unlike the hollywood where even single actresses in their late 30s can have a major role as a single woman finding his love.

I think at certain point Hollywood is also youth obsessed but things changed, That they prefer older established stars over young fresh faces.

Most lead roles in Philippine shows are being given to actors and actresses from the age of 18 to 30 years olds. While other ages are made for supporting roles. However, the age magic, like a 15 year old girl will play a role of a 20 year old woman is not dome always. Sometimes they need to do this because they know that the actress is more suitable by her than any other artists.

I think both TV networks are ereally forcing teen actresses to play adult roles so they can find their next big stars, Yeah tehre are stars here who still do well on their 30's but majority had been playing parent roles by the time they were on their 30's. I dont think they did it because they think the actress is suitable for the role, they want her to be matured cos they were trying to mold her as the next drama princess or something. Only few get lead roles on their 30's nowadays.

In my personal opinion, the age of an actor or actress is a minor factor in performing an acting role. If a 15 year old female can take the role of a 25 year old and does it perfectly, then she has succeeded in performing her role. Actors or actresses take on different roles every time they take on movie or TV projects. Talented ones can assume any role and do it flawlessly. For example, Brad Pitt in the movie A Curious Tale of Benjamin Button. He took the role of Benjamin Button in all his lifetime. From being a toddler/grandpa-looking to being and grandpa/teenager-looking. I think his roles were very confusing for any regular actor but he did them perfectly. I believe that the real measurement of a good artist is being able to perform any role given to him/her.
