It depends on what you want it to do on it? I mean like play games, graphical work or just internet use. If you just want to use internet or some normal work. you can buy cheap laptops having i3 or even atom if price does matter. If you like to plays games or high end work. then go for i5 or i7. with some graphics card. but They cost you more.

Well, the first question that is done, when you enter a shop or a superstore, to buy a new computer , is almost always present: Dear customer, you want to buy a new computer, exactly what for? Now since it is a fact that in the last decade, usually 90% of the use of your PC, you do through the Internet, there is no need to buy the most expensive and sophisticated systems. This in unless you're a programmer or graphic designer. The fact remains that I think you should have at least 4GB RAM, and above video card with hardware acceleration. Speaking in EURO (I live in Italy) I'd say you might as well get the spending under 500. Then maybe you might find some comments of people more experienced than me. I just wrote my personal opinion.

Well, we're going to need more information about what you are going to do with it. If you're looking for a brand i would suggest Dell, in my experience they have the quality. But if you're looking for a cheap one i would suggest Asus, because they have cheap price but good system specification. For a normal usage i would suggest Intel Core i5, 4GB DDR3 Ram, Graphic card with 1GB dedicated VRAM ATI/Nvidia. But to make it simple here's what i think you should buy if you are looking for Mid end laptops, means you're not a hardcore gamer but you do play games. For Dell i would suggest Dell XPS series (you can configure the config on their site), and for asus u would suggest you to check on their website for your best choice.
