An earth quake had reported in sumathra (Indonesia) with a magnitude of around 8.9 . What i wonder now is why earthquakes are occurring in these regions every time. and most of the earth quakes are of much danger magnitudes. Is that region has any geographical problem? what is the reason for this regular earth quake?

Indonesia lies in the earthquake hit-zone called "the Pacific Ring of Fire." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pacific_Ring_of_Fire

It is really a new knowledge for me. thanks... But the fact of around 452 volcanoes in this region means that more such problem occurs and the people has to still fear of that.

Indonesia is in pacific ring of fire where many active volcanos are there. and it is also the place where indo-australian plate crush with asian plate so many faults are there which produce many samller and higher earthquakes on these area. not only indonesia, many regions in this world having same problem like japan, new zealand, America's pacific coast are having many sesmic activities daily.

Sadly some areas in the world are prone to earthquakes. It is like a ball of fire and moving plates under ground. It is indeed a geographical problem for Sumatra and unavoidable. I visited that area of Indonesia when I was twenty one years old. I know Tokyo and San Francisco can suffer strong earthquakes too. I visited a dear friend that lives in Santiago in Chile. I spent one week there and experienced two earthquakes. The one in the night had a magnitude of 5.3 and it felt like the bed was rocking. Oh, my! It felt like a nightmare and I felt scared. In the daytime I experienced a magnitude of 5.8 and the glass was shaking. Oh, my goodness. My friend told me in 2010 they had one of a magnitude of 7.2. She lives in a strongly built house. She explained in a poor country like Haiti the buildings aren't as strong. I feel sorry for the people living in Indonesia where many strong earthquakes happen.

Earthquakes occur due to disturbances in the earth’s crust. There is no good reason that I can come up with as to why they are occurring in that part of the world, but I am sure that you can get credible information from those people (specialists) dealing with this kind of problems. All we need to do is be prepared for them.
