Do we make our own luck? Or, there are really lucky people?

Just this lunch time, my friends and I just talked about the successes of people. A Doctor passed and one of my friend eventually said "I wish I have brains like them, they earn a lot you know." Then the other replied "Well, if we were born, super rich, maybe we'd become like one of them". And the conversation went on. Now, I begin to wonder. Looking in a big picture, there are people born poor and there are also people who were born rich. The poor gets the poor influences and the rich gets the rich influences. When a poor becomes rich, is it because he's just lucky? Or, he really made himself successful?
Where are you? Are you just lucky? Or you made yourself to be lucky?

What interesting topic you've made here. If people got because of hard work, they are rich because of they made if their self. but if people got rich because of they got heritage from their parents, they are rich because of their lucky. If me, I am in my way to get rich. I will make myself rich by hard working.

I agree that there are people who were born lucky. Being born from a well off family is really lucky. But if you are poor and you want to be successful then most likely you need to work hard to the top. If they are lucky they can have a ride o go faster but most of the time and more often they need to sacrifice to reach the top.
