..on purpose, so that subscribes would uprgade or pay more to make it faster? That is just bad, but, oh well, it is business. i noticed that the internet connection became slower than before, no mater what time of the day. When we first bought dsl connection it was quite fast. And now for 300 pesos(8 dollars) more to the bill, they will make it faster..

I am wondering about that too. I have been getting calls abut an upgrade but i on't want to since the cost is high.. and i bet after a year or two they would mae the connection slower again so i would want an upgrade.

For the first 6 months you will notice that your internet is fast. But after that, you will be noticing that the speed of your internet is slowing, until after a year or two it is much slower. This are some of the business strategy of phone company in order for you to upgrade.

I have my connection for almost 4 years now and this is the first time I have encounter this problem. My guess is because of too much subscribers so the server can not afford to serve them all. I think they have to upgrade their server so that they can serve better. Or what you have in mind is correct too, it's a strategy of them too.

I also thought that before, I was about to subscribe from their provider and I'm lucky that there connection are still in the process here in my place. Many of my friends told me that the connection is good at the very first few months but quite getting slower when your subscriptions comes near to end.

Yes, when DSL was first introduced in our place I was the first one to grab it. They have promotional offer to those who already have land lines. For an additional amount you can have DSL connected. The connection of broadband then was limited because of few cell sites. Maybe , because of too much subscribers it's possible that the connection may be affected too. For now I can not afford an upgrade, maybe later.

Oh yes, they always make it faster on the first few months and later they make it slow so that you will upgrade it. That's what I noticed.

So, I'm not the only one who have experienced this annoying problem. I hope these Telcos thinks of what they have promised to their subscribers which is to serve before anything thinking of their revenues.

I believe that phone companies slow your internet connection down so that they can get more money out of you. They don't want you do get the basics they want you to get the top package. They will even shut your internet off and on so that you'll get so frustrated and try a different package. They shouldn't do this because they could lose good customers. Its a shame what some companies do. They will use unethical practices to get what they want.

Maybe it's one factor so that their subscribers who can only pay for the minimum service would think twice if they would upgrade or not. As of now I can not afford for an upgrade so maybe I have to pass for now.
