Hi there! I would strongly suggest that you verify the authenticity of that recruitment office at POEA. Many have been fooled with that, especially in the internet. Be careful my friend.

My friend have already reported it to POEA and asked for refund of all the payment she made. The person who recruited her assured that it will be returned. I hope so.

I believe POEA can answer you about this issue. If the agency is not connected with POEA, there must something fishy on that.

That is a good news, risk_taker20! Advise your friend to always make a follow up because these people are very good in making promises, but are also very good in forgetting what they have promised. Consistent follow up is a must. If they don't want to return the payment, report them to ABS CBN, GMA, or TV5.

I am very sorry to hear that, risk_taker20. I am also applying for a job abroad, and I always see to it that the agency is licensed to recruit Filipino workers. I always check the agency at POEA website. We can always check the agency's status. If you would like to help your friend, you may want to check http://www.poea.gov.ph . You can also accompany your friend to POEA office. They have a free legal assistance. You can also sue the agency through POEA's help.

You're welcome! I really appreciate the award. It's so easy to inquire and get help from POEA. She will fill out a form, and she will be advised to submit the form for validation. She will be asked to provide the complete name of the agency and its exact address. That's it! She'll be given free legal assistance. Their office is located at the second floor of POEA.

You should have your own research about the company and the persob who is recruiting to make sure there's really a job waiting.

Her friend convinced her to apply directly claiming she knows the owner of a golf course in dubai. salary offer was 50K thats why she grabbed it.

50K offer? What position did she applied for? 69K for processing the employment is too much. Normally a tourist visa would have to spend around 35 to 40K for visa and airfare, depends on the ticket cost.

You need to have some sort of contact with the DFA before paying some recruitment agency. Recruitment is big money in our country and big money means bad people will try and get money from it.

hi, i am also one of those people who had been fooled of an illegal recruiter,i paid her almost 15k but no assurance that i can go,the only thing i never did was i didn't check it to the POEA if that agency is registered.the destination country is also in Dubai.so to be insured that agency is legal we always check it to POEA if they are registered,.

it's really disgusting that some people will resort to this means just to get money.

you should check in the government listings. those in the lists are legit. never transact or give money without checking the credibility of a travel agency.
