Yesterday morning when I woke up, I tried to open my eyes (obviously) but when I tried to open my left one, it felt sort of stuck. I couldn't open it all the way, only about half way and not for more than a second or two. It really hurts a lot. At the time, I didn't think too much of it, I thought I must have just slept weird or slept on something! As the day went on, it started hurting even more. Everytime I blinked it hurts so much and still does. The pain starts at about the left side of my nose and goes all undernearth my eye. Later that night, the pain got higher and went underneath my left eye, as it had before, but the pain spread to go up around the outside of my left eye as well as underneath it..The weird thing is, you can't notice it at all. It doesn't look any different than normal, you can't tell anything is wrong. Although, when I woke up this morning, it looked a little more puffy then it had..I was hoping it would just go away but it doesn't seem to be.. Does anybody know what this may be and if so, is it serious, how do I get rid of it or maybe if you know how it was caused! Thank you muchly in advance, I'm really starting to get worried and I hope it's nothing serious!!!

In most cases eye swelling may just go away by its own or just by simple warm compression but if the symptoms continue and the eye becomes more painful or you started feeling a stinging sensation, it is advisable to consult a physician.

What is warm compression. Is there something I can do that will make it go away. Also, I'd like to thank you for your fast response and good advice. Your comment helped a lot and I appreciate that, and yes I think if I can't figure out what it is for sure, I will contact a doctor if it's not better again by tomorrow because it's already been a little over two days. If you get a chance please explain warm compression for me!! Thanks so much again, :)

If it is only superficial and it does not affect your vision try doing warm compress. You might be having a sty or if it does not rupture be a chalazion. But of course it is best to consult the doctor. Because I do believe that our eyes is very important even if you feel like it is not an emergency.

Hey! Thank you so much for your comment and advice, and your quick response and I don't mean this rudely in any what at all, but I'm not sure if I understand some of the words you used...I'm sorry I do apologise I just don't really know what you meant and I'd like to take your advice but could you explain it more for me a little. It has not affected my vision, at least not yet and it's been a little over two days. You mentioned try doing 'warm compress' , can you explain what warm compress is..and what it " if it does not rupture it may be a chalaxion" And yes, I also agree that our eyes are very important. I love my eyes, I'd be so sad if anything happened to them..lol.. But I think if I can't figure out what it is for sure on my own, if it's not better by tomorrow, I'm going to contact the doctor. Thanks again for the advice! and if you get a chance please explain more about the things I menioned above!!
