How do your mothers discipline you now that you're old enough?

This somehow irritates me. My mother still calls me every night to sleep. I just can't get that. I am already 21 years old, I already gave her a diploma and a license, but I feel that she still treats me like a kid. I'm an only child but I think that that should not be and excuse. I want to grow as a person. I want to learn from my mistakes from my decisions.

our mother's role is never ending.even if you're already a mother too can't stop that. A good mother has been historically expected to contribute her whole life to her family. Mothers have been the glue that holds a family together because it is up to them to provide the loving care and support needed by growing children.and that's i guess is what she's doing to you.she's just guiding you pal and just remind her if she's overpowering your life. you have the right to say so but make it subtle and can't hurt her feelings.

I agree with you flagella that a mother's role is never ending. You can tell your mom not to baby you anymore, and that you are in the right age.

Yup, I think that's the right term. She's kind of "babying" me. Its because she's a single mom and I'm and only child, I'm the only one she sees.
