Addicted to Chocolate

Okay so I've decided that I am addicted to chocolate. There are days that I could literally NOT eat anything but chocolate. I know I need to stop this process because I know it's so unhealthy and I have a huge fear of developing diabetes..but I can't seem to make myself stop..I will get up in the middle of the night and scavange for chocolate. If I don't have any in the house I will make homemade icing with powdered sugar butter and cocoa in the middle of the night and eat it by itself or I will make chocolate milk out of it. Is anyone else this bad or am i just super fat...lol

While I'm addicted to chocolate and eat way too much of it, I don't get up in the middle of the night and eat it. My problem is that I eat way too much at a time when I do eat it. Lots of times I will eat 4 or 5 times what the recommended serving size is at one sitting. I have been known to make icing like you do when I have no chocolate in the house but do have the ingredients for the icing but I don't get at night to do it. I've also been know to eat store bought ready made icing. Right now I have a large supply of Easter candy that I got on sale just after Easter and I'm struggling to keep from eating it up too fast. When I was much younger, I could eat 3 to 5 lbs of M&M's a week and be O'K because my metabolism was much higher and I got more exercise but those days are gone and now I have to exercise a lot more to keep my bad chocolate eating habits at bay.

Somehow I have got to the point where I have to have something chocolate almost every day. Most of the time I try to limit myself to a cup of hot cocoa or hot chocolate, but there are days, and most ladies know about this--I simply must have a particular type of chocolate I am craving, and just must have it. Else I think I would simply die. Now that I am beginning my mid-life cycle, I have to have it just like you do. I wish I did not crave it like this, but I do. I even tried to eat so much to make me sick of it. That did not work.

I also love eating chocolates. I eat cheap local chocolate brands and pricy imported chocolates too. I eat chocolate when I am sad to make me feel better and I eat chocolate when I am happy. But I also fear having diabetes. My dad, who also has a sweet tooth, now has diabetes II. It scares me so that I have controlled my chocolate intake drastically. But I still look forward to passing through shelves of tempting chocolate at the supermarket... This may, my family will go to Malaysia where Cadbury chocolate is way cheaper than here in the Philippines... Already, I'm mentally computing the number of bars I can buy!

I love chocolate too, but I can get addicted to it. Now I just eat a piece once in a while and that's enough, but there were times when I craved for chocolate all the time. The problem is the more sugar I eat the more I crave it next time... but dark chocolate is said to be healthy. Lol, I make the mix you just were going to make in the middle of the night, I use it for filling cakes with, if I don't finish it Welcome to mylot SissyRose

"make homemade icing with powdered sugar butter and cocoa in the middle of the night"...whoah, that's something. I love chocolates, too, but I only eat some if my husband brings me chocolates after work. Or, in the supermarket counter, I always grab a few bars. Fortunately, my passion for chocolates is not as bad as yours. Take it easy, though. You really need to control that somehow.
