Are China Phones good?

Philippines

I am trying to decide what phone to buy. I am looking at a dual-sim phone that is affordable. I really need it because I've been carrying two phones going to work. I saw this China phone brand and it has a lot of features. It is also a TV phone that has mp3 and FM radio. It also has memory and an upgradable memory card. I can't decide if I should buy it or not because of the reputation of China phones. China phones don't have a longer life span than other phones. I also saw a phone from Samsung that has the same price as the China phone. But the samsung phone has only basic features, only text, call, and FM radio. Which phone should I buy? Thanks

The rule with China products is: Low Price = Low Quality. There are many China high-quality products with competitive price means not all China products are bad.Plus, many branded phones are manufactured in China including my Nokia E7...lol

Buy whatever phone has the contract and features that you want. When it comes to the same rules apply with Western or Japanese phones when it comes to price/quality.You buy a cheap phone you get low quality, you buy an expensive phone you get more with it.

Yeah. As long as it will last for a long time. hehe

Don't know what you mean by 'China phones' exactly. But reading your other responses have you tried googling a review of the particular cherry mobile you're thinking of getting? On a side note a-lot of phones are made in China, they use a-lot of the time the same chip boards (which are usually mass produced there) and so on so really if its gotten okay - decent reviews and its considerably cheaper id say get it. Why pay a fortune for a mobile phone that you will probably change in a yr or two or it will break

Well when it comes to the Asian product market there is a-lot of people against them. If only they bothered to look at the majority of products in their household they'd soon realize quite possibly over 60% of it is made in the likes of China. The Chinese in my opinion are some of the most brilliant minds when it comes to inventing and innovation. If it wasn't for them we wouldn't have some of the things we take for granted today. Have you looked around on Cherry Mobiles forum? Maybe get some insight there see if you can find people reporting similar issues with it non stop. If theres a major issue with them, I'd like to think its on there.

Hi, The condition of the Chinese phone would depend on your luck - seriously! My dad's friend bought a Nokia N73 Chinese about 4 years back and simply replaced the battery with an original battery. The phone has been working wonderful for years. While I'm a no fan of duplicate phones, my dad bought 2 phones - one Blackberry 9000C and another Nokia N8. I'm using the BlackBerry for almost 2 years but have not got any problem. However, the N8 is horrible. If I were my dad at the time he bought the phones, I would have never bought the phones. It's not only about money, it's about safety too. Who knows, the charger might explode the second day itself, or the battery can explode in the middle of the talk.... I would never risk safety for money. I'm planning to buy an original phone once I have a steady well-paying job. So, NO! You did not mention price, but here are some double SIM phones you might want to look at: www.samsung.in/consumer/mobile-phone/mobile-phone/dual-sim-phone The price is in Indian Rupees (1 USD = IRs. 51)

Yeah. Thank you for this response. I didn't know that the battery would explode while talking on the phone. That's very scary. Thanks for the advice.

first things first. how much is your budget?? then decide on what features you want in your phone. find those features in all cp brands you can afford. next, if your budget isn't enough for the brand you want, lessen the features you like. if you're not satisfied with the features, find another brand. if you're talking about the "CHINA PHONE" which has complete features, so well, it has a lesser life span, more or less you'll also buy new charger, battery and worse LCD. so decide well. but if you want dual sim fone, yeah, there's samsung and nokia. but not a china phone.you should know and get the worth of your money.

I've always wondered why china phones have that reputation of being less durable. Is it a myth or a fact?

I haven't bought one but I would like to share what my brother had. He bought one China made phone with tv , FM and so on. It surprises me that it last a year knowing how clumsy is my brother with his things. I have seen that phone fallen many time but it was still working. One year is good enough for a clumsy owner like my brother. So , I think it depends on the user.
• Philippines

Wow. So, it was damaged after 1 year? With all of that clumsiness? hehehehe That should have not lasted one year. hehehe

I am not really sure- i wanted to buy a china phone since it was cheap and cute but my parents didn't want me too since they said it would not last long. I saw some people having china phones and they look okay. You should just buy a really cheap one and see for yourself.

Thanks for the comment. Yeah, I already bought a china phone. I really bought a cheaper one in case it won't last for a long time. That's way it won't be a great loss for me. Yeah. You never know. I saw some people having china phones and have used it for a long time. Maybe it won't get broken if only you handle it with extra care and take good care of it.

Thanks for the advice. I am searching for class A china phones. My friends said that these are the most reliable china phones in the market. My problem is how will I distinguish class A's from other class.

Well, that is true a lot of features but most china made does not stay long but will break it easy. Find other good, like nokia phone.I have nokia hpone and this is long time already and always drops off but still not yet go to shop to repair.

never triend buying china phones before , but i guess life span of china phones depends on the user :)
• Philippines

I guess so. It depends on the user. It's just that many people believe that china phones are not dependable phones because of their reputation.

I would choose a Samsung phone over a china phone in a heartbeat. I have tried buying a china phone in the past and it only lasted with me for a month. I had problems with charging it and many times the person I call could not hear what I was saying at the other end of the line. It really sucked. Anyways, just sayin...

It's not really worthy the investment unless you have no choice. Most of them have confuse menus, overheat easily, and broke on less than 6 months. Their batteries last a lot, however.

Thanks for sharing! Some said that their batteries won't last longer. I also read that in the forums.

hi, China phones are comparatively cheaper to other brands and they usually have all features too. We have used and my husband still uses and he don't have any problems with it so far. The problem you might face is the battery back up. Its poor and if you ask me which cell you should get, i suggest is would be a Nokia as if you are spending on cheaper phones for a limited period of time why not spent on Nokia or Samsung which will give you more shelf life. Also, depending on what all features you look in a cell phone, the cost would also differ... Do a proper search / window shop before you actually buy it... have a nice time.

Thanks for the advice. I get it. But I am trying to look at the Myphone brand. I'll do research on it.

Some says it is good some says it is not.Never try to use one so I can't really tell if it is good.I guess it is still based on the user if how long it will last no matter what the brand is.
• Philippines
21 Apr 12
Yeah. I guess it's up to the person if he is taking good care of it. Why do the reputation of China phones are bad?
• Indonesia
21 Apr 12
I think its depend on your luck, if you lucky you will get a good chine phone without any problem, and if you unlucky you will get china phone with some problem, like my friend he buy new china phone and two week later its have some problem/error
• Philippines
21 Apr 12
oh no. What bad luck. Even if it is brand new?
• India
21 Apr 12
No ofcourse not.China phones and all other machines , equipments etc..of china are breakable and irreliable. China is a country where you get a 1000 buck item even for 5 and even for 100000.Its how much reliable the quality is.I would higly recommend not buying anything from china. However if your budget is suitable there only then buy only those phones which give you proper gurantee and warentee .If you overlook quality and buy just for sake its in budget and you are eager for it , you may not know that thing will break and u will loose all your money. So be careful when you buy. I have experienced it so i am telling you .thank you
