In my opinion, a blog can be appealing to people if you have clean and interesting blog layout which is very easy to navigate, and two, if you got a great content which people would be very interested to read. Also, I suggest that you focus on the niche you know you are good at so that you wouldn't have a hard time creating great content. Also, I suggest that you put yourself on the reader's shoes.
