Enrollment time again!

Parents out there - particularly from Philippines, enrollment time is nearing again..
anyone of you already ready for it? i believe most already saved up for it months before May come. I did saved a little and i will be using my upcoming bonus for the enrollment too... plus the shoes, notebooks,school stuff, bags and uniforms again. It is endless...it is this way last year too! The life of a parent!
but it pays to earn extra and be able to save extra. I was even thinking as i did have some mylot money kept intact, i will be using that too.

hi there,
it has always been hard for my parents before heheh since there were 5 of us going to school. but now there's only one left..
that's why when i was in college i really tried to work hard and also be a working student so i can make my own money too.
yeah me to, i am not touching my earnings here, they are still in my paypal account... saving it for more important things...

you are a good daughter then. It is hard for parents to budget especially if the income is low, there are rare students who think that way now you know? most often students are just so carefree...until they start earning on their own@Cherish14 (2693)

haha i wish they could see that. even after college i don't ask anything from them.
i like my job right now, no salary but i am starting to love the kids at work. i work as a volunteer nurse.
but i know in myself that i really need to look for a job where i can get paid. it's just hard to find one...

Oh yeah! We have to think about the enrollment bills again! The school supplies are fun to shop for but it is a hassle to join the mall rush. If you are from the Philippines, you would know about Divisoria. Do you buy school stuff there? I want to save money but I still prefer buying things from the mall. I am more confident that the supplies they sell in National Bookstore are safe compared with the supplies they sell in Divisoria.
Living in Makati has its perks! For one, schools supplies and uniforms are for free! :)

yes i have been to Divisoria once but i do not think that is part of the option right now i am in Zamboanga and miles away.

Oh wow, Zamboanga! That is too far from where I am! I haven't been there but I do imagine that Zamboanga is a beautiful place. I imagine good beaches and seas!

Oh yes jazel , at this early, my husband and i are talking of stashing some of our 13th month pay for the upcoming enrollment of our daughter. Although her tuition fees are taken cared by her being a full scholar, we have to give her money for her school supplies, clothes and shoes and she said for her medical[equipments like steethoscope (did i spell it right? and the like.
And her fare in going back to Manila. OMG! See, how parents sacrifices for their children.

Oh my you have a future doctor so i guess all your sacrifices will all be worth it...
and as for me, i still have a long way to go as my kids are still in grade school!

Just enjoy your children on their different stages so you won't say it's still a long way. You can also try them to get scholarships. A scholarship is really a big help.

i am not still a parent however i want to respond to this discussion. i am really excited for the next school year and this month will be the time for enrollment indeed. Now, I want to earn money so that I have something to use this coming school days. In addition, my parents only pay for our tuition fees and allowances, period. Now, we need money to get some new things to use in school, and other needs like t-shirts, jeans, and other, maybe luxuries. @jazel_juan (15747)

Oh yah! I haven't prepare about the enrollment for my daughter yet. She wants to enroll a speech lesson and a public speaking class. Whew! I am still thinking about it because as what you said, enrollment is nearly coming and I have to buy her a new school bag and a bigger one coz her old school bag didn't able to carry all her books! :-(

well it is a matter of budgeting which is still hard..
i am also thinking of the things she needs for school like bags for one which are costly nowadays if you want to buy the quality ones..

So, you'll finally put your myLot money for good.
Enrollment for my little one won't be until she finishes her summer class, perhaps, midMay. They need to take an assessment for new students before they can enroll for K1.

Oh yeah, today I just discuss this matter with my son.
I ask him about enrollment and he says- oh mom- forget it- I haven't had enough fun with vacation

My son's enrollment is always the earliest here. It would be from today until Friday. And if we don't get him to enroll on these scheduled days, his slot will be given to somebody else.
So i actually save money for his enrollment from the closing date.

Sorry for the late reply, well yes you did mentioned you already enrolled your child to Ateneo, they sure do have very early enrollment but i believe the slots are really coveted.. it pays to be always early

yes, your correct,we need to spend a lot of money again for enrollment,its good and rewarding if our child, has medal and they cooperate with thier parents.
for me, i did save money for my three daughters who are studying too in gradeschool, my extra money thrue online and other income from my small buy and sell helps a lot.

Well i really do not expect for my children to have medals, they had awards but that was not my reward though.. seeing them learning is enough to make me happy plus the fact that they are making friends

yes.Enrollment is upcoming.Even i don't have child to enroll i ca feel that its again a day to expenses! And i agree with you that you need to have a extra income or saved money to use.Because right now, enrollment is approaching so be ready of it!

i remember the days when i am still schooling, i usually Enroll ahead of time to avoid rush hour.
