to give best responses again. See, usually i would wait for some time to give mylot best response, often when the topic dies down... but when it is active, i do not as other might still join and let me see what they have to say. But then often times, i find it the hardest to do as people varies on opinion and there are so many with good responses. do you wait for sometime to give best response? or you immediately give it?

i do have a tough time picking the best ones. but i do wait till my unresolved discussions get 2 pages long then work through the oldest first until i get it down to 4 or 5 left to do of recent ones. this works well for me. i like doing it on a day i have no more other pressing things to do here.

I do the same thing, I also wait for some member's responses and chose the opinion, ideas which I thought could be given my BR. But if there is only one response, is it okay to let it vacant until it gets one more so I can have my basis for my BR. Yes, there are times too that we find it hard to whom we should give the BR because in our opinion sometimes more than one member deserves our choice.

I think it is better to give yourself a timeframe in picking the best response to your discussion. But if you think or you felt that the response given is already the best I think you can give it to the responder. Just do not wait too long for this one. I think a month is too much to wait for the best responder :)

Hi jazel When I started out here, I did read guidelines but followed what the seniors recommened on a similar discussion from me. Today, I do wait for about a month. Earlier I waited for more than 3-4 months but, as you know me, the impatient me took over

Sometimes, i don't wait for many responses jazel , to give the BR mark. When i found a response that in my opinion is the best i already give it to the person. Waiting for lots of responses would sometime let me forget in the long run to give the BR mark. In fact, i have a lot of unresolved discussions, i might one of these days go back to them.

Oh yes i wait, but not more than 4 days (lol).. Well i have heard that people say they choose a best response after a week and some after a month, and some don't choose at all.But my discussions always receive a best answer within 4 days of time and also starts losing it's activity then.So I wait for 4 days, then give out the best response if there is going to be one! when there is going to be more than one best response, You need not give it at all, (excepting circumstances like this:) When one of the two best responders have opened a new account, that was the case in one of my discussions-so i gave it to the one who is still with that account which she used to respond to my discussion(lol)..

Yes there are times when i feel like i need to wait for a few more days as people may come in with better responses or better points of view but then there are also time where i cannot choose so i leave it as it is

Yes, that's just good when you could find lots of responses that are good,so you could just leave it as it is..

Personally for the most part I tend to wait unless someone just responds back in a way I have really been looking for and feel motivates me some. There are a lot of times I have waited, and still quite behind on that. But no matter what it is always interesting to see what others have to say.

I like to give at least two weeks so. On the other hand I wait too long most times any more. I will try to get it done this month on at least a few of my discussions. I really like to go back and check up on them.

If I had many discussions like you do, I would wait for some time to give my best response. There are really some mylotters that are busy and can't login for a week or so and can't respond to discussion. I would wait for them of course. We just can't know what their say on that topic if we close it right away.

as often the case, every time i find an interesting topic , i will get down to writing my response. I only share my my opinions with mylotters, not considering whether it is the best or not.when i have something to say i start a new discussion. Immediately i find an interesting response, i will write my own.

I won't give it immediately. I should wait some days later and see a person who is the most active person in my topic...lol

I think it would be right to award Best Response only after amble time has been given for members to contribute. I think the shortest time I saw a Best Response given was less than 2 hours after the discussion started. I feel that it will discourage more responses if a Best Response is given too early. I will usually take 2-3 weeks to award a Best Response. It is not easy sometimes to decide on one but a decision has to be made. A good response should be highlighted to show our appreciation.

yes i had that notion too that if you give the best response immediately it might discourage other lotters to join as it was already granted
