India today launched its own 'spy satellite' RISAT-1. The indigenously made satellite will have day and night viewing capability and will be able to see through cloud cover.Apart from helping with images for better farming, the satellite would be able to get images of floods and earthquakes.Though agricultural help and disaster management are the functions of RISAT-1, it would also work as a spy satellite and notice enemy bunkers.RISAT-1 is a culmination of nearly 10 years of effort by ISRO. ndia has now joined a select group of nations having such a technology.
