Manual washing vs. Washing Machine?

April 26, 2012 5:26pm CST
Hello there folks. Have your tried doing any of these two methods of washing your clothes? Which one is the most effective in making your clothes clean? What are the pros and cons of manual washing/washing machine washing? I am planning to just do it myself than ask the Laundry Shop people to do it. I want to save money. Thanks for your replies!

Hi there Lauren have a nice now ok! Tip# Bluedoll 78523.9 - Prewash I think if a person really wanted to save money washing clothes then they would look at what they are doing. I mean literally look at the clothes. Why are we cleaning the clothes? They are dirty right? But which parts? Usually the collars and around the sleeves or stains from say food that drips off your chin onto you belly need the most attention. If a person focused on those soiled parts first and then did an overall cleaning to the rest of the material then washing would be more effective and cheaper in the long run.

Washing machines do gobble up the coins or if you own yours break in time not to mention us energy and soap costs. They are necessary however so paying a little attention to how we use them might be worth consideration. Not sure I believe in cold water washes though.

I hand wash some of clothes especially the white ones that are dirty. We wash our uniforms manually since dirt tend to accumulate at the collar area and sometimes washing them in the machine won't be enough.

My mom said that I have masterd the art of washing my clothes. I always follow a systematic process in doing the laundry. I don't let anyone wash my clothes, until my wife came. She is unbelievable. I always say that she seems to have PhD in washing. Before, she doesn't want to use washing because she said that it can't really remove all the dirt in our clothes. She have tried bringing our clothes in a laundry shop nearby and she got really disappointed. She said that it seems that the shop just put so many fabric conditioner in our clothes to make it smell or look clean. But after days of being stocked in the closet, the clothes began to smell bad. But eventually, because of her busy schedule, we bought a washing machine and she experimented for a few times to get her desired outcome. She usually spend almost a whole day doing the laundry before but after we had bought a washer, she could finished them all for three to four hours. I could still see her brushing some of our clothes especially shorts, pants, and towels. Definitely, using a washer will increase your electricity bill. But one thing I really like about it is that it could really save time and could dry our clothes for a short period of time.

I didn't have a washing machine for a very long time. Only when we got one, I realized how useful it is, how much time you save and how comfortable it is. Also, the clothes are cleaner than if you wash them by hand. I could not live without my washing machine now. I recommend you to get one. You will notice the difference.

It is a lot easier to wash the clothes through the washing machine and Saturday is often the schedule for washing. By just punching on a few buttons, the washing is done and the only thing left to be done is hang them under the sun. There are some clothes though that should be washed manually, like the undies, and those with the care instructions requiring manual washing. Washing can be a lot of hard work especially with the bedsheets, blankets and curtains that can be quite heavy. I also prefer to wash the jeans and other heavy clothing in the washing machine. It makes life easier especially when there are lots of work on hand.

I choose washing machine. Manual need more energy. and time consuming does not allow me to wash by hand. We are in new era, so i guess using washing machine is a must and more comfortable, saving your time as you can do other things much more rather than you wash all the cloth by hand. Unless you have a 1000 dollars dress, than i think you can wash using manual which is by hand, or if you rich enough, send it to Laundry shop for your expensive dress.

Both should be equally effective. But I heard washing your clothes in a washing machine may damage your clothes sooner in the long run than being washed by your hands. As for me, I'd prefer a machine, because my hands remain dry and causes skin damage and at times lead to bleeding around my cuticles. If you have time and energy you could save some money by washing your clothes without a machine. Happy washing. Lol.

Well I have washed some of my clothes on hand and I still have to say that washing machine does it better. It is helpful though if you need a cloth and you can't fill the washing machine yet.

Truth be told I would rather have the laundry shop do my laundry except for socks and undies of course. But, if I would have the time and energy to do my own laundry especially if I'm trying to save some money, then doing my own laundry would be really awesome. It's just that I don't have that much time to do all my laundry. It's okay and I think it is a lot cleaner to do your laundry by yourself 'cause that way, you know that your clothes are well taken care of instead of being all too dependent on machines and other people.

Washing your clothes without a washer is very time consuming, but can be done if you want to save money. Big tip though, our washer went on the fritz once and we had to hand wash and hand dry everything...do NOT use the detergent you use for your washer to clean the clothes. You would think soap is soap right? Wrong, it makes the clothes smell bad, and stiff.
