Cats have nine lives?

Do you guys believe that cats really do have nine lives? I mean, how is that even possible when all creatures on earth has only one. I think the saying is referring to the abilities of the cats to survive. Their strong senses and agility contributes to their survival, making them live in a longer life span. That is nine lives, figuratively speaking. How about you guys, what do you think?

I think cats are exceptionally agile and versatile, and very intelligent, too. But the saying "cats have 9 lives" can lead people to think that they are nearly indestructible, which can lead to problems--some people neglect or mistreat cats because of this.

It is very interesting that we have the same saying here. It seems that our culture is similar in this aspect. I also don't believe it is true. The life is fair for every creature. I love China

I believe that too. I saw a documentary by National Geographic about a cat and its ability to land on its feet when falling. It's amazing how they are able to balance their body and estimate the height from where they fall. They may have injuries but just minor ones. They are still able to live.
